TWiilght INSanity (TWINS) . . . and the story of lagore's sig (and some Umineko too)

So Twilight INSanity aka TWINS (and its sequel Twilight refrAIN aka TWAIN) aren't really anything new that I've not talked about. These are both very fun shumps. lagore's sig is Mayuu Saijou of TWINS. She and her sister Yuuri are by and far the strongest pair of twins in TWINS, with Yuuri having a wide-shot that takes up most of the screen AND homing shots and Mayuu being ungodly fast with her insanely strong laser. The story is set in 2100 where there exists a virtual reality world called Illnet. Yuuri and Mayuu both happen to be in Illnet during the night of the "chaos," and the story goes from there . . .

Compared to Touhou TWINS and TWAIN are easier. While the bullets don't seem to move slower (overall), the game has an overall slower feel so it is more accessible to those who don't do well with these kinds. Also, the music is GORGEOUS! Both soundtracks UNIversal SONority aka UNISON and MELancholy Of DYNast aka MELODY, are excellent and on par with some of the best Touhou soundtracks. The characters are great too, each one with their own quirks.

It is actually a very enjoyable game. In terms of Touhou scaling, I would put it in a tie with MoF (only IN is higher than that). TWAIN is also quite fun; just below TWINS. TWAIN also tweaks the strength of the equivalent "Saijou" team so it isn't so ungodly strong but also leaves you with the the equivalent "Hoshimi" team as utter crap. Highly recommend both games.

Unfortunately it is very hard to find vids of TWINS or TWAIN played on anything other than easy so don't let the paucity of bullets on the screen make you think it is normal. Though I would recommend playing easy first just to get the hang of switching, the p-rate (VERY IMPORTANT) and tension.

As for lagore's other possibility, it is the one I am currently using of Ange and Battler Ushiromiya from Umineko, something that know I talk about here and there. I won't necessarily answer lagore's questions as some are major spoilers to Umineko. You'll just have to wait and see if the anime will actually answer the questions instead of leaving everything out like last time . . .

They screwed up Higurashi. So you can hope with Umineko but . . .

Was the game version of Higurashi better then? How was it different?

The visual novel was a lot better given all the stuff left out. It's being translated (last I checked) so I don't want to spoil too much, but for a taste, they left out Frederica who is really one of the main characters in Higurashi and definitely the most important character to know about throughout the trilogy. Then a string of things that would have 1) added more to the story 2) added more to each character 3) actually allowed you to guess what was going on.

I do believe I have mentioned about how the anime mislead people as to why Rena was walking around broken glass as an example.
