The only horror movie i watched that had Cthulhu quality to it was Carpenter's "The Thing". I would love to see his take on Cthulhu mythos

in that case id recommend you to see In The mouth of madness also made by carpenters its the closest to lovecraft i ever seen in a movie. but ill admit i would love to see his take on the cthulhu mythos myself.

The silent, 2005 film "The Call of Cthulhu" was pretty good. This adaptation looks pretty bad, and not very Lovecraftian.

Cthulhu is not hollywoodable since everyone should be dead or insane in the end.
Funny thing i missed that movie too. There were few nice games featuring Cthulhu theme. Prisoner of ice. Or Call of Cthulhu (the part before you get weapon hehe).

prisoner of ice ahh now that game was sweet wierd as hell but damned sweet. as for the gun part im only for guns in cthulhu games, if they are about as useful as throwing rocks at an lion. that is you might kill whatever you are trying to kill if you are lucky, but odds are you will only be pissing it off and further increase the chance of you ending up dead.

There is this unwritten rule in Call of Cthulhu RPG that players with guns die first. Its not like GMs are after them - its more like people with guns feel more secure. After all they have this heavy MG and granade luncher so they are going to grind those monsters to mincemeat, right? So most of the time they go in first.
