Default Favorite Games of a Franchise

Okay, this is for your favorite game for a franchise. So no stand-alone games. AND NO 2 GAME SERIES!! So no Ico/Shadow of the Colossus.

Super Metroid - (Metroid Series, SNES) - One of the best games in existence and the best 2D platformer/adventure ever created.

Mega Man X2 - (Mega Man Series, SNES) - The 2nd best 2D platformer/adventure ever created.

Final Fantasy VI - (Final Fantasy Series, SNES) - The best game period. The standard for video game story and character.

Fatal Frame II: Director's Cut - (Fatal Frame Series, XBox) - The scariest game ever, especially when played in FPS mode.

Super Mario Kart - (Mario Kart Series, SNES) - Still the most fun, most difficult, and easiest to pick up and play game of the series.

Shadow Hearts: Covenant - (Shadow Hearts Series, PS2) - The 2nd best RPG in existence, and one of the funniest and dark at the same time.

Wild Arms 3 - (Wild Arms Series, PS2) - One of the simplest RPGs out there, but it grew on me. A simple tale also, but it had the right kind of flare for me.

Scarlet Weather Rhapsody - (Touhou Series, Windows) - Really one of the most fun 2D fighters out there. Easy to pick up and play, but incredibly deep for a non-commercial game. And I'm actually much more into the fighters than danmaku games.

Ocarina of Time - (Zelda Series, N64) - The standard for Zelda games. The first one I never got bored with all the way through.

Hard... There aren't a lot of Franchise games I play that aren't RPG so I think I'll have to stick with that.

Neverwinter Nights (PC) with all the xpacs: Though I did play most of this online and only went through story mode once. I loved to RP on this game, and if we're counting Bauldar's Gate 1 & 2, Icewind Dale, and Neverwinter Nights 1 & 2 as a franchise... the first edition of NWN is my pick here.

FFVII (PS2): Probably one of the best if not the best FF game ever, FFX2 comes in a close second because I just loved the cards system, reminded me a lot of FFTA for the GBA which was also a great game.

007 - Golden Eye (N64): Obvious choice in the 007 shooters but this really opened me up to FPS's in general and I had way too much fun slaughtering my friends on the projector screen we had. I was knick named The Weasel when they challenged me 3v1 and I beat them 10 frags to 1 5 times in a row. lol... I never got that good at another FPS ever again.

Ratchet and Clank - Going Commando (PS2): One of the few adventure platform games I ever really played, but this series I did enjoy... First game I ever played the built itself off your save from the previous game... really made me happy that I spent so many hours on those weapons before I even picked this one up.

That about does it... there are other franchises I've played 1 game of so I can't really claim fealty to them over the others.

Super Mario RPG: Legend of The Seven Stars (Super Mario RPG/Paper Mario series) - Although it really isn't part of the Paper Mario series, it is very similar, to the first two entries at least. Addictive RPG with a hilarious story as well as some of the best characters ever. (How many people wouldn't like to see Mallow or Geno in a new game?)
Definitely play this if you haven't already!

Final Fantasy VI (Final Fantasy Series) - Classic RPG, quite possibly the greatest on the SNES if not ever. Love the story, as well as the interesting cast of characters. Unlike many of the later Final Fantasy games this one was actually pretty difficult. The music is also very well done. (give the piano renditions a listen!)

Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (Zelda series) - One of the few games that I've beaten as many times as the two listed above. Every time playing through this game is just as fun as the last. Link to The Past would have to be a very close second.

Metroid Prime (Metroid series) - One of the best games available on the gamecube. Interesting blend between an FPS and Adventure game. Beautiful (yeah, it looks that good) environments as well as an interesting story (if you decide to scan as much as you can), though it isn't spoonfed to you. Super Metroid would be my second favourite.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles IV: Turtles in Time (TMNT series) - Pure arcade beat'em up goodness. Even better playing with a friend.

Tales of Symphonia (Tales Of... series) - Amazing co-op Action RPG, great story as well as likable characters. Unique battle system. I hope that the sequel on the Wii is good.
The new entry on the 360 also looks like it will be good. Tales of Vesperia

The top two listed games are arguably my favourite two games ever.
Thats all I can think of for now.

assuming it can be a franchise with only 2 games (and maybe some addons)

nwn2: motb (nwn series)
bg2: tob (bg series)
kotor2 (kotor series)
ja2 (ja series)
fallout (fallout series)
soul storm (dawn of war series...though the second coming sounds promising, so far only standalone addons)

tie fighter (x-wing series)
sim city 2000 (sim city series)
indiana joens: fate of atlantis (indiana jones series)
sam and max: chariots of the gods (sam and max telltale series)
portal (half life series)
moo2 (moo series)
civ2 (civ series)
doomsday: armageddon (hearts of iron series)

edit: spelled it mmo instead of moo, added fallout
