The Gamers Plot Summary

One late night in a college dorm, four socially inept geeks immerse themselves in a fantasy world of their own creation. As their characters journey through forbidden kingdoms, ancient ruins, and the forsaken wilderness, the players attempt to solve a mysterious puzzle that could ultimately mean the difference between getting a life and death. Who is The Shadow? Where is The Princess hidden? Will any of them ever find a date? And how long do they have before their annoyed neighbors call the cops?

The Gamers: Dorkness Rising follows Lodge, Dungeon Master and budding writer, who wants his gaming group to finish their adventure. Unfortunately, they're more interested in seducing barmaids, mooning their enemies, and setting random villagers on fire. Desperate to rein in his players, Lodge injects two newbies into the fray: a non-player character controlled by Lodge, who the power gamers immediately distrust, and the rarest gamer of all — a girl. Can the group overcome their bickering to save the kingdom, or will the evil necromancer Mort Kemnon triumph unopposed? A parody of fantasy films and the adventure gaming community, The Gamers: Dorkness Rising is a hilarious romp through the world of sword and sorcery — in this case, a world of exploding peasants, giant house cats, and undead roast turkeys.

An Epic Quest for Five 9th Level Characters

The Quest for the Mask of Death begins in the city of Whitetower. Despite the occasional goblin incursion, the lands around Whitetower have known peace and prosperity under the reign of King Erasmus the Randomly Biased. This relative calm is shattered by the news of a powerful artifact falling into the hands of a wicked necromancer named Mort Kemnon. Kemnon has sworn to bring low the king and transform the land into a twisted reflection of his own evil god, Death himself...


About the Module

Based on cult hit The Gamers: Dorkness Rising, this new roleplaying adventure module expands on the story of the film with an expanded adventure into the world of Fartherall. Play the characters from Dorkness Rising or your own party as you face a Goblin Totem, devious Priests, a miniature Death Demon, and even the mysterious artifact known only as the Mask of Death.

Compatible with the Pathfinder roleplaying system, the print version of the 48-page module will have a color cover, black-and-white interior, and traditional saddle stitching for the classic RPG module look and feel. The PDF version will feature a color cover and color interior.

They're also including a little miniture, The Pile of Dead Bards!
Which is a joke from Dorkness Rising.

We're play testing the Mask of Death module tonight. Hopefully you'll do better against Turk, Fastidian, and Rennard than we are. Daphne only has four hit points left and Flynn has died three time in three rounds.!

We blame auto-correct and Mort Kemnon. Also, the way this new module is written, people are going to need that mound of dead bards mini!

We're not going to spoil how Flynn (as gamed by Scott C. Brown, naturally) killed Turk, but it was full of narrative irony.
