AP Style Custom Signature Style Reference - Please read before submitting a signature

I've seen a lot of signatures lately being created that eliminates the possibility of other users using the AP signature template without ruining the signature.

Please try to mind the following when you post a signature that may be used by others. Basically, the bottom and right 1/3rd should not be filled with your subject material.

I think I'll go ahead and sticky this- It's vital for requests and SOTW, and once we manage to reorganize and get the main submission area active again it will be of help too.

Not everyone displays stats though, is it not ok to have a few incongruous ones knocking about like that in the custom topic and sotw (not really requests unless it's requested for no stats)?

This is mostly just to make life easier for people utilizing pre-made signatures. It's true not everyone uses stats, but you shouldn't prevent them from doing so. Therefore it's best to keep the subject on the left, if you want to keep stuff on the right that's fine.

FWIW, the third signature would work in that way if it weren't too low.

Your own signature or things not explicitly made for others is fair game.

Not sure what ever happened to it, but there used to be a .psd template for making sigs. It was just an AP sig with various opaque layers so you could judge where to place images.

While this is stickied, it is not a rule. Feel free to make SOTW and similar signatures as insanely impractical as you want. It's just to help with people who want to make it easily usable.
