I'm stil not sure whether to follow Toriko weekly or wait until it's over/there's a huge amount of them to marathon... For now I guess I'll watch the ''Special'' and then I'll think about it.
Anyways this is a show that just gets better as it goes on. You're gonna love it chii.

^ I can see why you would compare them preliminarly, but nah, don't worry, it's not. Toriko may be over-the-top with the 'combat skills/animals/super-mindblowing food with outrageous properties' stuff but as opposed to Bobobo that's actually a strength here and it actually has a plot. Basically it delivers all that Bobobo wouldn't: it's fun, the characters are manly win, its world rocks and when the fights actually kick in they're serious yet awesome business.

the ova is the perfect intro to toriko because the one piece crossover is mostly just good old silly fun. i thought it was fabulous but it's not a very good way to start off a new series lol

Just watched the OVA. It was okay. I got the humour but it didn't trigger any actual laughs. There is something good lurking in Toriko's characterisation (particularly this notion that he is as frighteningly bestial as the creatures he hunts) so I will follow how you guys react to the show and decide later whether I want to pick this up.
