Furthermore, I think comparing Seitokai no Ichizon to the Simpsons is like comparing apples to oranges as they are two completely different types of comedies. I'm also a huge fan comedy including the types in this show so I'd say I'd fit in the target audience pretty well ;)
It's only really the focus that's different. The Simpsons draws on different subjects and focuses on family issues, whereas Seitokai no Ichizon draws on anime related culture for it's comedy. I'd say it's more like comparing apples and crabapples. Seitokai no Ichizon has a much narrower and less relevant focus, but it's still satire on some level.

I however still say that the transition to the seriousness was poor and I'd prefer there to be a lack of it. Such as ecchi fans don't watch an ecchi for a good story line, I don't watch light hearted comedies for character development.
Well character development can be a perfectly good platform to launch some gags off of. I'm certainly interested in seeing something come out of Sugisaki's two-timing (although they seem to have forgotten about it by episode four).

'm also glad to see that the parodies don't seem to be awkwardly thrown in anymore, although it was a shame that I didn't understand any this episode. I look forward to seeing how this anime will end up ^^
I've been trying to figure out the "Sayonara, Sayonara, Sayonara." thing for like a week O_o

Although episode four was basically strike witches, K-ON, and some basic tropes o.o

I'm sorta wondering why it seems like I'm the only person watching this right now. It's better then Sacred Blacksmith, and while it's nothing amazing... with this season being so weak for new shows I'd think this one would stand out a bit.
Sacred Blacksmith is video game adaptation garbage O_o
If that's something 'everyone' is watching there's something wrong.

The format of that anime is simple:

gag
opening
"lets do something!"
16 minutes of gags, fan service, and anime references that are at least 3 years old
ending

I do have to say the animation is fluid but it is suppose to be for this type of show.

I'd have to say episode 5 is the strongest episode I've watched of this thus far. The entire second half was good.. when Sugisaki was locked up

Episode 5
Yay, finally! A good episode :D
I especially found it funny when they talked about how Kurimu played in the sandbox and and when Sugisaki was having delusions about the girls with dialog that didn't match at all. XD

It was awesome when Red was saying how mature she was and she made the Tora Dora reference. Just the way she said it, classic. Like she was letting them all onto a secret. Love it!

And yeah, his delusions were hilarious also.

Also, I think I could watch 13:50-14:05 forever.

hey hey, the continous parody references (FMA, K-ON, Death Note, Clannad) simply keeps me in a laughing mood.

And, of course, the personality of each of the characters, so defined and different is promosing, at least, to laugh some miunutes per week

yep. i was worried when i started this one that it would get old fast... thus far it's been fresh and hilarious... and i think getting better as it goes.

this one might be a surprise gem in this mediocre season. I'll reserve judgment till we're deeper into the season, this could get stale real quick... but i'm enjoying it and starting to look forward to more.

It's so funny to see everyone's opinions changing. I came into this show cracking up, so it's kinda been the same old same old, but just most trash this series, and now a lot of people are enjoying it...
