I LUVV KAMPFER!!! I mean like, you randomly wake up and see yourself as a girl. Then you see a talking stuffed animal. Is that in your everyday life?? This is just plain funny
I just wish the episodes would come out faster

So I was wondering why the name seemed so familiar to me and I finally checked it out and realized they animated the light novels! I'm not a fan of them (this is a type of story much better as a manga or anime than with mostly words to bog things down).
For a harem I find this quite enjoyable (and no, not because of the disemboweled stuffed animals) because 1) The girls for the most part are not weak little creatures waiting for what they want but are assertive and will take what they want 2) All the references to the fourth wall and otaku references 3) Shizuku 4) The (serious) music I do find it strange that no one wonders about what's with Kaede and those dolls (not that they talk, but the dolls themselves). Anyways, it's a pretty enjoyable show and Shizuku really takes the spotlight. Wonder if this series will get far enough to see a lot of the white Kampfers as well. I'm also glad they did that entrails skit as they did . . . ;p It's also great to see a harem where the girls really are strong characters rather than appearing strong in comparison to a pathetically weak male lead. On a side note, I know the Japanese have been doing this for decades since WWII, but they really need to tone down on the usage of generic Germanic words to make things sound exotic. German's not an exotic sounding language . . . though I guess using Germanic words is better than a string of engrish words. On another side note, when I first saw the school uniform and the stocking I thought it looked like Bible Black at first. I don't know if that's intentional or not given it's Kampfer we're talking about . . .

I don't recall if I read Kampfer far enough to know why she does. Hell, I don't even remember the string of events I read, just certain characters. It wasn't a very interesting read, but it was always one of those "I bet this would be SO SO much better animated or manga-lated than in a novel."
With Kaede (and more recent girls like her) I'm glad the trend is towards less annoying ahoge lately. Ever since I saw Yume Kikuchi's crane claw ahoge the large (or alive) ahoge have bothered me much more than they should, especially since most don't mean anything (unlike say, Saber's ahoge, which I think the anime didn't even touch upon its meaning).

ep 5, better then ep 4, not as good as the first 3... but still pretty darn funny in parts.
I don't really care about the story... this anime is just silly trash... but it's really funny trash when it's on... and boring trash when it's not. Thankfully it's been on a heck of a lot more then it's been off. |

I don't think anyone can delude themselves into thinking Kampfer is anymore than that . . .
