Fortunately for me, I'm reading the manga version. Only 8 chapters are translated atm and the anime has already caught up to it.
Thus far, I'm enjoying it quite a bit even though I have a rough sense on what's going to happen to who and when and what etc. |

There are two (possibly three as the third one is unconfirmed but likely) characters who are on the chess board that recall events of each . . . board. A hint, all three share something in common. Another hint. One of them is somewhat similar to Rena. One last hint. All three wear the one-winged eagle . . .
As for all the VNers bashing, I have to say while I am still saddened a lot has been left out (the extreme strains of Jessica and Natsuhi's relationships, all the missing talk about the epitaph, a LOT of the money arguments which explain the characters quite a bit, a TON of background, etc), the show is pretty good, all things considered (i.e. Higurashi). I'm REALLY glad they did not leave out the scorpion charm and the ring (after Higurashi I wouldn't be surprised if they kept out such important things). I'm also really glad they kept Natsuhi's and Kinzo's conversation and the chess board (I would not be watching if they left out such an important theme). I'm also really really REALLY glad they actually showed what happened in the shed, meaning we will likely see the Halloween Party, the goats, Rosa's banquet, Ange's sacrifice, and a few other choice scenes . . . hopefully we will see Jessica dress up as Suika and sing "Tsurupettan" as well. ![]() Overall I think the series is doing fine so far. They've kept the bare minimum in to keep the general idea going and can still fill in the gaps later in Turn or Banquet (Alliance would be way too late). I'm also VERY happy they kept (for the most part) the music from the game and used the pieces when they were used in the game ("Rahu Goldenslaughterer" for the shed ).The epitaph tells you how many will die every time and when. It also tells you who kills (or who is supposed to . . .) each person. A minimum of 13 sacrifices are required for the epitaph . . .

...Ahhh! Thanks, purplemo, I was wondering if this one would also feature resets (I have not played ANY of the VNs).
I was a little skeptical during the first episode, but as a horror fanatic, I glad I'm staying the course. This looks to be brutal, and I plan to enjoy every minute.

meh.. finally watched the first two eps...
not too interested. this was another one on my must watch list that's looking sorta boring. I think part of the problem is i wish all the characters would die. They really bug the hell out of me. |
