Very interesting story about Misae began in 5th episode... And it continues i the next episode! Waiting for that one (cute cat btw ^_^)

Episode 6:

Misae arc was similar to Makoto arc in Kanon, but I still enjoyed it a lot. Seeing Misae in her younger years these last two episodes was awesome. It looks like Yukines arc is next.

While I do enjoy these episodes, i would rather they just get back to the main characters and get to the actual After Story part of the show.

Then again, I like Misae and Yukine (Mei can die screaming in a blazing inferno for all I care) and its good to see them highlighted. Ahh, I'm torn!

Maybe if they go ahead and highlight the minor characters, but use less episodes to do it?

Episode 7:

Yukine's arc finally gets started and it looks like Kyoto actually is going to stray away from the game version considerably with this arc. With how it's going so far though, im not going to complain.

I think this whole season is a waste of time, don't get me wrong I love clannad and Kyoto/key works but this just seems like a huge waste of time. I would have enjoyed if they decided to make a second season made up of expanding on the other character arcs. The Ryou/Kyou arc in the game is epic, the anime made them look plain and unimportant. Wish they showed more Tomoyo <3.

Episode 8:

I think Yukines Arc could have used another episode, but it had a good ending and we get information on the lights that Tomoya sees after each arc.

While I liked the appearance of the rainbow bread and Akiko's jam from Kanon, I think it ruined the serious tone the scene otherwise had. The fight with Tomoya was epic though.

I am happy to see that they continued the story. I was not happy with the movie. It was good, but they turned Tomoya into a life hater. Was not expecting that. I hope the relationship gets deeper.

For the most part I'm just highly disappointed in clannad after story. -.-

That recent arc was really shitty. Gangs just felt very out of place and it was a very surreal arc. Could have definitely done without this shit.

Episode 8:

Yes! I loved the Kanon '06 reference with the Jam, XD. I think I about died laughing with the rainbow bread. But the battle that Tomoya was in was epic.

How did the gangs feel out of place? Tomoya and Sunohara are delinquents, and them and Tomoya are all known for fighting. So how would fighting(gangs) feel out of place? As for being surreal what aspect of the anime isn't surreal already? The whole anime has a ton of surreal in it. The girl in the world of nothing, Tomoya getting the dream from the cat, Fuko from Clannad, etc.

You make some good points. It's true the series in general does have a lot of surrealism. I've just never heard of a gang of pussies, and frankly that just feels very awkward to me even in such a surreal world. I don't really attach the delinquents of this series to gangs. Sunohara and Tomoya are definitely not that kind of delinquent. They feel more like the lone wolf type which is probably why I felt gangs were out of place. Having the sweet and gentle Yukine-chan being basically the leader of a gang really really feels out of place to me. =/
