From a non-manga perspective, I really enjoy this anime, and look forward to watching it every week. I may be crazy, but I think it is starting off a bit slow. I shouldn't judge this until a few more episodes, however. On a side note, I dislike the opening theme, but I don't think it doesn't fit the anime's genre. The show isn't that serious, and it coincides with the current high school generation (watch MTV much?). I don't like the song at all however, its one of Orange Range's worse ones. (Viva Rock for life!) |

i need shal discuss this and get the thread moving again, especially since a few more eps are out. plus now it seems like lunar is out of their slump a little and back on the ball. they just released two eps tonight that i still have to watch
i do think they will keep the term shinigami. it just wouldn't make sense to change it. also as for the opening theme and the title, the author of the manga really loves old rock. i do believe Bleach is the title of metallica's or some other older bands first song. if you look closely in the series you can see of lot of things that represent rock and roll. ichigo's rebelious bleached hair, and many other thigns that also slip my frazzled mind this morning. keep watching bleach, and rock on |

Is anyone else checking out TW/Naisho's release of Bleach? I'd recently viewed their release of Episode 7 and had a little problem with their encode. It wouldn't really run at all in my normal player (DivX 2.1; stfu, it works for 98% of everything I watch) and had to load up VLC Media player to check it out. Which works but is less than ideal.
Considering the funky playback in the VLC player, it looks like a quality release with good fonts, timing, & translation as to be expected from TW. I must admit to not having seen any of Naisho's work before and it looks like they have a good partnership going with TW. Now if only thier encode played well with others could I then give an outstanding thumbs up. Right now I have mixed feelings :( |

The encode is 120fps... the internal filters of many do-it-all players don't play 120fps well. My suggestion is just to use ffdshow alpha oct 2004 with mplayer2.exe (which can be found in C:\Program Files\Windows Media Player\mplayer2.exe Yes...it comes standard with windows.) Either that, or just uncheck all the internal filters of your player.
