Hmm, I've been using different sub groups, some of them call him the colourless king, others the white king...
So if they go for colourless...maybe there's a rainbow king...or a dark king or something, who knows.

Well, the Katana guy, kuro something, would make for a natural successor for a black king. Anime loves that whole nomen est omen business. I mean shiro means white too.

^^ the gold king is the king of money in this series, the red king is an anarchist and the blue king controls the police. I think the names have less to do with the colours they signify and more with the symbolic meanings thereof.

yes there's the business of names but the colorless king is not named using the word 'Shiro' which means white. that's the reason for the difference in the subbing I'm pretty sure.

and I don't think it makes any sense for Kuro to be the black king. he was directly subservient to one of the other kings, and it seems a big point for this series that the kings all stand on their own

I'm a bit puzzled as to what exactly grade school means. Looking it up I was referenced to graduate school where fairly notable universities such as Harvard and Oxford were mentioned, but from the "tone" or context rather I would assume this isn't exactly what you meant to say. My guess would be some sort of pre-teen schooling establishment. Chuniibyou?
Why would "arguing" about colours...in an anime about colours (of kings), be grade school niveau?

it's a reference to elementary school, where (at least places I've gone to) the various classes are only known by their grade number (1 through 8). this in contrast with the secondary school convention of calling classes as freshman/sophomore/junior/senior

We just have primary, count 1-5, then secondary, count 1-4 (1-7 if it's the gymnasium). And for the other question?
