I read the manga each week, though I still really enjoy the anime even when I know what's going to happen. They are both great, but the anime is much more well put together. Though I'll admit, I probably had the best time with one piece when I just started watching the anime, and it was at around 300 episodes, so I could just watch it all day, eagerly waiting to see what happened next. But like naruto and bleach, I ended up reading the manga once I caught up to the anime.

I started when it was in the 30s or 40s with kaizoku. With the arlong arc, i got hooked completely. After watching them for a few years, i finally realized that they were like, a year and a half behind when another group started releasing up to date episodes. One of the worst experiences i've had with anime was having to turn to low quality hong kong fansubs to finish out skypia and get to where it was. Japanese> Chinese > english = not fun. I knew a lot less japanese then, and i was able to translate it myself better than they did. In august i started my brother on it, and rewatched it all with him. I think it was that much more special to me because I've been watching it for so many years to finally go back and see it gave a warm feeling of remembrance.
