Found this one in my Hulu "Cause you watched" blah blah blah and thought I would give it a try. I am looking for good series with grown up characters lately.

This was a bizarre and emotionless anime leaving me empty inside and slightly disturbed by the female mains actions in the last two episodes.

So we're treated to an 11 episode story of a dude who falls in love with a somewhat older woman who instead of naturally trying to win his way into her heart, he decides to stealthily infiltrate her life and force her to get to know him by becoming her flower shop employee. Ok, I get that..he's 22, still has some maturing to do. So did I at that age.

The scene where he meets the dead husband though, while kinda humorous actually shows how shallow and empty all these characters are. He responds by walking out like a child and then resolving to steal her away after having a long chat with him on her balcony in the next moment.


I'm not going to get into the rest of this implausible mess of a plot. The fantasy world stuff was an afterthought, there was no journey. Just him being irritated about his situation while the dead husband turns into a cruel beast of a person..and I mean that. What he does is so shockingly sick and ugly I had no sympathy for him. He essentially rapes his wife and then empties out her bank account and THIS is where she gets galactically stupid because not once does she realize, when she finds out her dead husband body jacked her new suitor, that his presence is wrong.I mean yeah, she demands he gives the body back, but then decides to kill herself? COME ON.

She fails to see that she was held captive for 3 years after his death, and even before he died because the husband was a mean spirited, self centered prick who took her feelings for granted and guilted her into marrying him and sticking with him as he slowly died. Hell they had nothing in common. She was lively, he was a gloomy gus who didn't want to enjoy anything she did.

And although I stuck this all the way through, I hated every second of it. The only redeeming quality was the epilogue and even Rokka and Hazuki's daughter seemed bored with the whole thing. When Shimao tells the grandson that he looks like his Grandmother was the only touching moment in the whole series.

1/5 stars. There was potential for a great story, but it fell flat on it's face.

Wow, you are quite harsh, but not unjustifiably so. I too hate it when a series pretends to be deeply meaningful and turns out to be as swallow as a spit on the ground.

It was shocking, because it had somewhat of a noble idea and premise. It could have worked but didn't..that's why Say "I Love You" caught me by surprise I went into that one thinking it was going to be awful yet somehow got charmed by it.
