Wanted to add, HP regen isn't necessarily a good thing for a solo player.

Well when you die in SAO you die in real life, not taking any HP Regen seems like a bad idea when you're life's on the line. If you're taking too much damage or you're about to die, you can try and kite to regain your HP.

Food for thought though, HP regen is great to reduce downtime, not so good if you take damage above your base HP pool. He pulls a single mob, it hits harder than usual and then a patrol mob jumps in or it's a group..he screwed. I have died more times than not just to the power of inevitability.

Yea, but we have to remember this isn't an ordinary MMO. Something in that situation which you stated would be hard as hell if the mobs happen to be around your level but in SAO you control every single character movement, including the dodging and it's not like his dodging has a cooldown. So during a fight like that he can attack and dodge incoming attacks and if he takes damage he is constantly restoring 600 out of his 14500 health. Yes, true the mobs he's against are doing more damage than those guys but the speed that he showed he has I'm pretty sure Kirito is dodging a good amount of attacks.

How does HP regen a bad thing even in a situation like that? Are you saying skills are better spent defensively over HP regen because of the chance of stronger mobs overcoming his sustain? Unfortunately there are still tons of things we do not know one of them being are there even real defensive skill/stats? He may know what he can and can not solo safely too.

There has to be.
One of the things that was said last episode about Kirito...

A one-handed, no-shield style.
Which implies there's at least a shield skill, which I would class as a "defensive skill".

Also, something I mentioned earlier was...
Kirito said in the first episode...

Skill types are pretty much limitless.
Which would also imply there's defensive skills.
But like you said, there's tons of stuff we have yet to learn about.

i've seen plenty of information from manga and from interviews with authors posted here...if this is some new rule i haven't heard of it...as far as i'm concerned anyone who looks under a spoiler tag does so at their own risk....and should not whine ....
