Well most of you have raised the high and low points of the episode which I largely agree with. Loli-bait check. Tentacle rape check.
I did enjoy how the episode panned out. I was thinking quite negatively of how Kirito had found himself a loli to take along on his adventures but glad he did have ulterior motives in pursuing those murderous fiends.
His adventures with Loli-chan relates back to my point last week. How different people/players deal with everyday life living in an MMO. She was a self stated noobie - how is someone like her supposed to survive and continue living in this world?
I think its totally acceptable that she'd want a cute pet to keep her company. Dawwwww.

Well, because that's how the game is played, and there are people, like the player killers this week, who convince themselves they're not actually murdering people.
This is the kind of stuff I was hoping the series would do and would like to see it do more of it.
Yep. The slight exploration of these player killers was definitely the highlight. How do MMO trolls, keen to do more trolling get by? She could be quite right in pointing out that death in the real world is just a bluff, but what if its not?
What happens if player killers finish SAO to find the people they killed in the game, died in real life?

So long as his posts follow basically that pattern - not attacking people personally, for example, or spoiling stuff by referencing the light novel series, which yeah, not kosher - I see nothing bannable about his coverage. Also: Critics - and all viewers - invariably have biases. There are no objective observers in entertainment, and no objective truths that such and such an anime is good and such and such is bad. You carry your expectations, likes and your preconceptions to any TV series.
Granted, I myself am quite content to go into threads of airing shows (Angel Beats or more recently Jormungand) to say how absolutely dreadful I consider them, so there is that.
You probably haven't seen how roriconfan drags down most threads he's in (not just this thread). The crux of the problem isn't simply that he's negative. Most of the time, in most threads he posts in, he throws out negative one liners as troll bait - to get people to needlessly debate with him - or to illicit some response out of other forum users.
My issue is that he has himself stated that he enjoys flaming, his primary purpose is to ruffle feathers as opposed to innocently raising negative points of view for 'discussion' purposes. He's an admitted troll. I posted about this earlier in the thread with evidence of his very admission if you care to see for yourself.
In other words, its a complete waste of time engaging with him on any level - and I've learned to ignore him and hope he eventually gets banned.

Now, putting all that aside. Me = not being emotionally invested in a characters demise until:
The dragon pet died. That emotion when, and when she rezzed the pet..those manly, manly throat clearings.
Now Kirito, to me, seems to now be running into the "Damsel in Distress" of the week. Although the pvp aspect lampshades his using
Silika as bait.
But yet again..the creators want you to think he's a jerk ass, he thinks he's a jerk ass, but at the end of the day: He ends up being Harvey Dent. It's a matter of time though, before he becomes Batman.
I don't think the creators want you to think he's a jerk ass or that he thinks that... he's just willing to let the other players think that. He's just, continuing the batman stuff,
batman at the end of the second film. Only SOME people think he's an ass, but most don't.
Meet the girl of the week: Silika...I like her. Not an annoying, expendable downer like Saichi was. Plus she's cute. I actually felt kind of bad when her dragon thing died, but all was set well by episode end. Kirito...homeboy is badass. Basically freaking unkillable, and that blade to the throat against red haired bitch...so awesome.
On a secondary note
anyone else recognize her two "fans" in town? It's the gender and age deceit duo from episode 1. Surprised they aren't dead yet...

Like everybody else, I am feeling that this anime is being terribly rushed.
But there is probably a reason for all that. Think about it. Most likely production team probably have a long arc awaiting and don't wanna stretch this series out to far. Come on lvl 50, and we haven't seen him take on any bosses by himself? At least for a 1st season. So for better or worse, the tempo has to be sacrificed for the overall plot.

I guess one advantage of doing it this way is it provides plenty of OVA fuel
