This just occurred to me as I re-watched SAO - the orphanage scene - why would there be so many children with the game? The game was supposed to have sold out within seconds of it's launch and those who got it were people who waited in line 3 days prior. There's no way a whole lot of children would have done that. I don't imagine parents camping outside skipping work for 3 days just to buy their kids the game either. I would honestly be surprised if there was 1 actual child in the game.
I don't remember if we addressed this point when the episode was out |

Some parents buy games to play with their children as part of family time nowadays. Theres family teams on League of legends, I've seen a father raid in WoW with his kids and grandkids. Other kids are just spoiled. Regardless of the reasons, as a result children do play every single mmo you can possibly think of. |

Yeah and considering it's a VR game the parents can't really watch their kids when they're gaming anymore, it only makes sense for them to get their kids the game as well so they know they're not out playing in the street.

( Connector is a circuit that is connected when powered and loses connection if not powered ) Of course this is going by not everything being fried when that circuit is fried. EMP's are not as convenient as most people believe, large scale ones are unwanted and endanger equipment that is used to sustain patients in this case. Small scale ones could cause other problems and possibly won't knock out everything at once. Also; although not as dangerous to humans as to machinery you do NOT want large EMP forces near your head usually. It´s also possible to shield electronics from EMP to a minor extent even in small pieces of hardware like this. Seeing as this is in the future EMP shielding could have improved and harming those circuits would require stronger EMP´s to knock out. Since the Helmet is to kill the host when people temper with it it´s save to say that you shouldn´t try. Kero. Last edited by Etue; 12-04-2012 at 09:27 AM. |

I'm totally sure engineers behind nervegear would be able to deactivate the unit, even if it meant disassembling it on user's head. And that shouldn't be too hard.
But it's obvious there have to be some simplifications so the plot could be carried through. |
