Well the side story is here. It's not bad or anything but seriously, did they have to start it when Chiyu went all traitor on Haruyuki and Taku? They couldn't put it before this arc or just finish the anime with it? They had to interrupt the arc to put this side story in?

Next week, part 2 of this side story, *sigh* If this side story has a part 3 I'm really going to be mad!

Like I said on Anime Ultima, I can honestly see this going on to about episode 20-21-ish, and make Nomi the "final boss" of season one.

Thus begins the filler. Not too bad though. I want to see a little more Hime since she's been out for a bit. Not much to say about the episode though, not much happening.

I share and agree with everyone's sentiments about this episode. If it ties back into the main story somehow then maybe it won't be such a waste of time.

I find it hard to believe that what Hime is about to embark has any relation to what has happened in the main story. I do however believe this side story would lead to Hime's friend, Megumi to being a burst linker and will likely join the group in what is perhaps to be season 2.
~Also, anyone else turned off by the fact that there are living creatures in the accel world, plus the fact that these "avatars" drink alcohol. Maybe I'm just nitpicking and overreacting...

Clearly wasting time because there is nothing else to show besides a couple of episodes before the finale.

They're not really living creatures. I like Accel World because of the fact that it's 2 different types of games. It's the normal fighter which the plot follows mostly but it's also like an MMORPG. You can go into the Unlimited Burst and pick up quests to kill strong monsters and gain Burst points, you can also be attacked by multiple people on Unlimited World as we saw in the fight against the Yellow King. As for the alcohol, I'm pretty sure it does the same thing as in SAO, probably makes your avatar groggy like in WoW.

You may be right in all accounts since I have no MMO experience and when I look at Accel World for what it is, my assumption is that of a Mortal Kombat and its online lobby. Just people accepting fights and to duke it out while there are spectators watching the fight. Never really thought outside the box with the whole exploration and again creatures, which I know they're not alive. To me, its wierd seeing turtles and giant lizards in a mech like setting.
