So not a chance accident by any means. Still a bit too convenient in my mind to get things moving, but what can you do. It's a minor blemish for me that I picked up on, don't get me wrong though, I'm still liking the show.
I agree. It was entirely too convenient for the sake of moving the plot forward. But I don't think it was as badly done as i've seen it in other shows. I'm glad they had at least some underlying reasons why it happened and it all wasn't "let's make something up on the whim'

Re: Accel World
I'm a little disappointed that
they didn't give the explanation as to why. (explanation from the "Car" scene in the manga, that was omitted from the anime for whatever reason)
That guy was suspended from school for hitting the Main Character, and his Neurolink got scanned. Illegal programs were found to be installed, and he was arrested for it. He was released on temporary bail, and that's when he tried to run them over with the car.
I'm glad Chiyu isn't Cyan Pile, but...damn. I didn't see that car crash attack deal coming. At least they didn't kill her. That would have sucked. And Taku turns out to be Cyan Pile...asshole.
And on a secondary note
what kind of man calls a threesome dream, with two, way out of his league hotties, a nightmare? That's just shameful Haru.

My Claims, etc.
@Ebhen: Yeah, he was censored in my version too... for some reason.
Ep.4
No no no... darn you cliffhanger!
Wow, this was a really emotional episode. We got more depth added to the characters feelings and their motivation, I can't wait to see what happens next week, it seems very promising to say the least. You better not let us down!
This. I'm glad I picked this anime up. :)
Indeed strange it was censored, I also don't see the purpose of it...
Also,
I think most of us agree Haru is a 'loser'.
But Tamuku misused Link Buster for his kendo, installed backdoors on his girlfriends neurolink (without her knowing?) and wants to beat a girl in a game who's seriously injured and fighting for her life...
I think that makes Haru a very sympathetic person compared with Tamuku.

Re: Accel World
episode 4... me not computer literate. me not know what backdoor means. me now understand chiyu pawn in big game. me now talk like bizarro!
next week, oninosweeney will begin talking like solomon grundy.
emotions out in the open and all, i guess it's cool she's not using him, even though he's fine being used.
so taku has been using chiyu all this time? that means when he's exposed, chiyu will dump him, and then the love triangle will begin (unless Black dies on the operating table).
also, does it matter how many points she has right now? she's level 9 so a lose is end game for her.... or is that just from another level 9er?

he quickly went from the best friend any guy would want, to the manipulative jerk ass right quick! wonder if he's working for one of the kings directly or if he's doing this add to his dick repertoire?
Kuroyukihime better pull through, they can't just kill her off! Really good episode though can't wait for the next one. Only odd bit was the censoring of the car driver when they say heis name and we already know who that is.

Work Vs. Home
So now Kuroyukihime is mad at him for basically doing exactly what she asked. What an ingrate.
I don't blame Haru for not believing that Kuroyukihime likes him, since I can't really think of any reason why she would.
Flying car attack! Dude doesn't mess around when it comes to payback, that's for sure.
And now Cyan Pile, princess hunter, is revealed. So that pretty much confirms it, he's been using Acceleration to win his kendo tournaments. He might be Accelerating every match, or even twice per match, so he's been burning through his points.
I have to wonder if all of her injuries are from the car, or if some of the damage was from the strain put on her body by full body acceleration.

Might as well run them over while he's still a minor.

I think Haru is an objectively sympathetic character. All of his problems basically stem from an inferiority complex he developed when he realized he lost the genetics lottery.
He also has kind of whiny voice that makes you want to slap him upside the head.
I'm sure in the next episode they'll try to do something to soften Taku's appearance as an amoral, self-serving, piece of crap. Good luck with that. No matter how much you polish a turd it's still a turd.

Yeah, It annoys me too.
They glossed over the whole thing about that bully who finally got what he deserved and now wants to pay back...
Now it just looks weird, especially when they so obviously censored who was behind the wheel. (I still don't understand why...)
If you are going to skip some parts but don't offer explanations to what's still there, why not rewrite it entirely so it fits?

There was no need for an explanation? Even without saying EXACTLY what happened after he got suspended there was still enough reason for him wanting to hit the 2 with a car(albiet quite an extreme choice, but no totally illogical for a character like that). Who cares about the censor it's not like it's hard to know what happened. They say the name like twice in the show.
