The official website for the Eureka Seven: Astral Ocean (Eureka Seven Ao) project announced on Friday in Japan that a television anime version will air starting in April 2012. The anime studio BONES will return to animate the sequel series. The February issue of Kadokawa Shoten's Monthly Shōnen Ace magazine is announcing on Monday that Eureka Seven Ao, a manga sequel to the Eureka Seven television anime series, will launch in the next issue on January 26. The "real mecha epic" will center around a boy named Ao who "set 'destiny' in motion again when he held the 'power.'" Artist Yūichi Katō is drawing the manga based on the original story by the anime studio BONES. http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news...-in-april-2012 Anyone else looking forward to this?

MY DNA IS MADE UP OF ANIME

I'm a bit afraid of it, because E7 is my favorite anime and I'd prefer not to have it ruined by a bad sequel, but the same people seem to be working on it so I think it might turn out great.
If it has older versions of Eureka and Anemone I'll HNNNNNGGG :) |

Granted, we only see him from a certain distance, but this guy in the poster sort of looks like Renton with Eureka's hair color... and if it's a sequel... I wonder if they can have offspring, anyways... well, putting that aside, more Eureka Seven means I'm watching it. Hopefully it'll be as good as the original.

I think the clothing's too boyish and the chest too flat for it to be Eureka. Her hair wasn't that short when the series ended, either. Who knows? Renton could use the Nirvash, too, maybe it can be inherited. ...Would kinda fit the theme, really. Although shouldn't probably make too many assumptions... wait, should I spoiler this?
Eh, it's a sequel, so anyone who's reading this should really have watched the first one. ...so, yeah, I don't know if Eureka can have kids the traditional way, but... if she can, I'm guessing the kid in the poster is hers and Renton's. If not... who knows? Maybe he's unrelated to everything... although having such a rare hair color does raise my suspicions. ...A Coralian? Don't think it's Eureka, anyway. Too boyish from what I can see. |

The notion of a direct sequel to one of my favorite anime leaves me with mixed feelings: it will either be completely awesome or require brain bleach to remove so it doesn't taint my memories of Eureka Seven. Plot wise, E7 left a lot that a sequel can work with, but my main draw to E7 was the character development. An all new cast of characters are going to have to be put into a different scenario to make them stand out from the cast of E7. It it ends up being about a group of dysfunctional people aboard a ship again (like so many imitators that came afterword), I'll be very disappointed.
