I figured I cannot be the only miniature painter here on the forum. I figured we needed a thread to show off our work and to ask for suggestions/tips.
I'm currently trying to make some custom jump packs, any suggestions on bits/random things around the house I could use to make them would be appreciated. I'll begin with a little bit of what I have. |

If you don't mind working with aluminum you can always cut up soda cans and bend up what ever shape you desire as long as you have the creative skills to do so. A pair of scissors and pliers will get you pretty far.

Yet, the miniatures are made from pewter, are they not? A metal that is softer than aluminum. If you had to, you could stack sheets of cut up aluminum cans (epoxy) to increase the strength. Adding bends to the metal will give it increased structural strength as well.
And I can't imagine you would transport these little buggers too roughly. I know I wouldn't if I spent the time it takes to paint something that small. I'm guessing you use a fisherman's tackle box to transport them? If not, it may be something you want to consider. |

maybe you could use that epoxy putty it is easy to mold into any shape and once it is cured you can sand and file details into it easily and it is very tough...
