Default Lord of the Rings - in Chibi form

Well, only two of them. I did these about, wow, must be getting on for two years ago now. I went through a phase of getting bored in lectures and I drew myself and my friends in chibi form, then when I was at home one day I dedcided to try doing the Lord of the Rings characters in the same style. For some reason I only ever got round to doing Frodo and Legolas. Maybe i should pick it up again and go for a full set, I dunno. Anyway, I'll stop rambling.

I did these by drawing the image by hand, then scanning them in, and colouring them in paint shop pro, with pretty much everything on a seperate layer.

Frodo:

Legolas:

I also had a play with the frodo image and took the outline, put it into Manga Studio and tried out using some manga shadings on there.

Frodo (Shaded):

Six years ago this girl drew great LOTR chibis. If you know German there even are funny single panel comics.

You mean like the life drawing stuff that I've done?

(and yeah, I should probably edit the title of this lol - I do remember reading somewhere in a book about the difference between chibi and Super Deformed, I just forgot at the time >.<)

No... I'm not a technical artist at all - I'm far more comfortable with a more free style. I've just had a look back at what I wrote in your post and I never said that I was a technical artist, or that I wasn't good at life drawing, to be honest out of the stuff I did at art college some of my best work was the life drawing - plus I enjoyed it. I'm always a bit nervous about posting my stuff on forums. I'll have to dig out my portfolio and take a few photos of things and post them on here. Throw myself to the lions :)

I'm actually fairly pleased with these two images that I've posted here, and they both took a fair amount of time to do since at the time I was still new to colouring on the computer. :)
