Prologue Canon - Reocurring note for note melody. As it is written in the Book of Apolcolypse, humans once were a bountiful race that were blessed with technology and the planet was once flourishing with the grace of the earth and the sky. However the humans became too malicious and foul and tried to rebel against the gods however the result was their loss. Now every hundred years a ceremony takes place where the ruler of each nation must sacrifice their most beloved and take part in a battle to please the gods of this world. These destined kings must fight each other with their guardian spirits, known as a Holy and the last one standing will become the saviour who will restore balance to the world. here's the prologue, would like constructive criticism!

Joseph de Mura – An Unbroken View
-Act 1 Part 1 April 18th 400ae (Apocalyptic Era) Four hundred years ago, humans who were once blessed by the gods, rebelled against them out of greed and their hunger for more power. The gods in return punished them and put the world into disarray and destruction. Gods being merciful, gave the humans another chance, however the price was that every hundred years, the rulers of each nation must part take in a battle known as Canon along with their "Holy" and win the favour of the gods. The victor is the only one who may pray to the gods.... The starry sky layered thick with stars. So thick that you could get lost by just gazing up at it’s beauty. The breeze of the cold mid-spring night wrapped around Joseph as if it were a blanket. Shivers rose up his spine and goose bumps arose on his arms. Joseph wrapped his right arm over and rubbed his left arm. The feeling of warmth beneath his hand gave him a reason to smile. It reminded him of times that seemed so sweet. He lied there on the roof of his building not doing what he was suppose to. Paper work seemed even harder now that it was “that time”. Generations before him did the same he only thought why the time had landed on his reign. His father and his grandfather both had the life that granted them the leisure to live for their full live with there beloved. Why had the time come that he may choose his death along with many others or the death of his beloved? Every thing seemed to turn so sour with age. Joseph just recently moved in to kingship of his empire. At the age of 25 he just barely took legal right of his empire. Everything seemed to fall perfectly on him. His parents, the former king and queen, were able to die together and spend the rest of their eternity in heaven. “They died in each others arms they say,” Joseph said to himself as he thought of the event that took place. Everything turned sour. How could one even think of killing their beloved? Or rather even think of leaving your son behind to do what you would not. Leaving him in such a situation where it’s his love or his empire. “We could do the same, dear love,” a voice responded to his past comment. It sounded as gentle as mild spring rain. A lady walked out into the starry lit sky from a small door that led from the building. “You know that there is no son to take my place if I die. What would I do? Could I really leave my empire to crumble without a leader? Would I really let my empire die at the hands of gods?” frustration took over. Joseph had tried to leave this out of sight out of mind. How could one even think of sacrificing his loved one? It was unmoral. “Would you sacrifice me so that you may live?” Her words floated out of her mouth they seemed so innocent even though they would haunt Joseph for the rest of his days. “How could you ask that of me? Kill you? The one I love so that I may save myself? How would I be able to hold the knife with such steadiness as I killed you with my own hands? I would die at the hang-mans noose rather than kill you with my own hands.” Hands reached down and around Joseph as he sat up. A crying Montmorency sat on her knees behind Joseph arms wrapped holding tight as if never to let go. Tears never came to Joseph’s eyes. He is in such a state of disarray. It was as if his whole world died. In all things that life would challenge him with, this will be his greatest choice. Nothing could affect the world more. Joseph was without a response. What would he say to his beloved? That he had chosen to kill her or rather tell her that he would kill himself only to have her die later with many others. How would she react? With days left until the ritual of canon. How would he decide? The choice seemed so easy to those who did not care but to kill your own beloved is another thing. __________________________________________________ ______________________ There they laid until the morning living in each others silence, until Montmorency fell asleep, arms still clenched around him. Joseph felt nothing. Neither her warmth nor the comfort of having her near. He dared not leave her nor move her arms away. How could he push her away? When "the time" was so close. Whispers could be heard and they repeated, “things just turned so sour. They just turned so sour.” |

Maria de Levasque - An Unbroken View Act 1 Part 1 April 18, 400 AE (Apocalyptic Era) Kingdom of Levasque Four hundred years ago, humans who were once blessed by the gods, rebelled against them out of greed and their hunger for more power. "And restore balance to the worlds," said Maria as she closed the Book of Apocalypse which rested on her lap, "Chapter 20 Verse 16." Maria's short, pink hair brushed past her face as the breeze from the ocean brushed off against her. The sea was calm, which made it seem like the storm last night never happened. She looked at the town below her from her balcony, located at the top of the western towers. The town was more livelier than usual, the reason being was that it would be her twentieth birthday tomorrow, the whole town will be filled with onlookers as she would be heading outdoors for the first time in years. Few years back, a mysterious stigma had appeared on her abdomen, which caused her to be bedstricken with an illness. His Majesty the king, and Her Majesty the queen have been worried for sometime now, however they were glad to finally hear that she was feeling better. The whole kingdom were also excited to hear that she was finally all better and that she will partake in the parade. However tomorrow was special not only would it be her twentieth birthday, but it would also be the day of her coronation, her ascension to the throne as well as her wedding ceremony with her beloved fiance, Rynald. Yes, tomorrow would be a full day, a day which she will never forget as long as she lives. Maria got up from her chair and placed the Book of Apocolypse on a nearby shelf and walked out of her room. Her fluttery dress shuffled from side to side as she walked quickly through the hallway, as she passed her servants, they bowed one by one, greeting her with a smile. In return she would greet them back with a warm smile that could melt even the thickest glaciers. She then continued on her way to the ballroom where her Majesty, the queen was overseeing the wedding decorations. The two doormen that stood guard bowed and graciously open the door for Maria, allowing her to step inside. The gigantic ballroom's interior had transformed into an elegant white chapel, decorated with white roses on the table, orchids near the altar, and the whole room itself was surrounded with red and white roses. Maria went up to the nearest table and bent down to smell the sweet fragance of the roses. It smells the same as the ones in the garden, she thought as she inhaled the arousing aroma. "Maria what are you doing out of your room?" asked the queen as Maria raised her head once more. "I just wanted to see how the preparations were coming along mother," she said with a sweet smile. She walked towards her mother who was standing in the center of the room, Maria seemed to walk so elegantly that she appeared to be gliding on air. She gave her mother an embrace and kissed her on the cheek. "It looks wonderful." "Now, child just leave everything to mother and go back to your room, we wouldn't want you to be sick on your wedding day," the queen said holding Maria's arms while she looked up and down to determine Maria's condition. "I can assure you, I'm completely fine," Maria answered back quietly but yet in reassuring voice. Maria looked around, searching for something, or rather someone. "Is father around?" "No, he went to talk to the high priest, apparently there is going to be something else going on tomorrow, now child go and rest, you are looking pale already." Just as Maria was about to say something, a familiar voice from the called her name. Maria quickly turned and saw her lover Rynald approaching her with his arms open and before she knew it, she was being embraced tightly by him. Maria hugged him back. How long had it been since she last embraced him? She felt his warmth and she wanted it to last a little longer before she finally realized where they were and pushed him back, her face flushed with embarassement. "We shouldn't," she said shyly, her face still red with blush, "Her Majesty is present." "Oh please pardon me, my queen," Rynald said to the queen as he bowed, " I was too eager to hold that I forgot about where we were." Rynald then quickly spun and faced Maria and held her hands within his own and closed in on her. "Tomorrow is finally the promised day, my princess." "From tomorrow on, I shall be known as the queen," she replied with a happy face, "and you shall be my king. Do you swear to stay by my side forever?" Rynald closed in and gave a light kiss on Maria's forehead, which made her whole face hot once again. Rynald stared into Maria's blue eyes and said in a gentle voice, "Until death do us apart." Maria nodded her head in agreement. "Until death do us apart," she repeated. Rynald held her hand tight and then kissed her in the lip this time, and pulled her away towards the door. Maria waved to her mother as she followed Rynald, exiting the ballroom. She looked at the back of the man she was going to marry and smiled. She would be with this person until death seperated them, until the last of their breath, forever. Until death do us apart... |

Maria de Levasque - An Unbroken View
Act 1 Part 2 Kingdom of Levasque Trumpets playing, people cheering, cries of joy could be heard everywhere. Maria got up from her seat on the carriage and waved to the crowd. Her smile was able to drown out the glaring sun that shined above them, her voice so soft that it lifted away all the sorrows, her features were that of a goddess. Her face showed no pain, only pure innocent happiness that expressed her deepest feelings. The parade was underway, from the port to the castle was about 25 miles, at their current pace they would reach their destination when the sun was at its highest point. What would be a short parade, felt like an eternity to Maria. She was happy that people showed up to celebrate her birthday but what dwelled in her mind was not the thought of the parade, but what came after it. It's every girl's dream of course, she thought as she kept smiling and waving to the crowd, The gods must be torturing me today, why can't time pass faster? She looked down to her right were her fiance was sitting, he looked equally irritated and bored. Finally tired from all the standing, Maria took her seat next to Rynald and rested her head against his shoulders. The only shoulders in the world she felt comfortable resting on. Rynald patted her on the head and then wrapped his arm around her shoulders. She was close enough to hear his heart beat, Du Dum, Du Dum. The rhythm of his heart was so comforting, Du Dum, Du Dum. It was hypnotizing almost, i, her eyes got heavier, Du Dum, Du Dum... Maria opened her eyes, all around were ruins, nothing around her was familiar to her. She was in her wedding dress, which was now ruined beyond repair. She tried to get up and placed her hands in front of her so she can push herself up. Her hand was soaked in something wet. it was too thick to be water. She stared down at her hands, which was under a thick layer of red puddle. Blood? What is this? Why is there so much blood? Is there anyone there? Can anyone see me? Maria looked frantically about, but nothing was in sight, only illusions from the flickering were visible in this land of rubbles. She took everything that she had and gathered enough strength to stand up and walked across the baren land. She tried to speak out but her throat was too dry, she tried to reach for someone to hold but her arms were immobile, she wanted someone to resuce her, but no one was around. Only tears escaped her lifeless eyes as they dripped down her face. Are you the one that's calling me? Maria raised her head in surprise, she looked around her but could not see the person that was calling her. Over here, look harder. She did as she was told and stared at the distance where she could see a figure in the distance. It's figure was not that of a man nor a woman, but rather a floating spirit like being, surrounded by balls of white flames and its appearance covered by a black cloak. As it approached closer, Maria started backing away slowly, but no matter how far she tried to back away, the cloaked phantom only grew closer and closer untl at last it was in front of her. It raised its arm and from the sleeve came out a paw, engulfed in white flame. Maria, closed her eyes shut, preparing herself for the inevitable death that was to come. However what she felt was neither pain nor suffering, instead a warmth she was missing ever since she woke up in this hell hole. Do not fear me, for I am you and you are me, we cannot separate, we shall be together, until death do us apart, Maria... "...Maria, wake up my sweet, Maria wake up." "Hmmm, what?" she said as she rubbed her eyes with her hands. "We are here," replied a familiar voice, and a hand reached out and stroked her short pink hair. "We've arrived at the castle, you fell asleep remember." "Rynald is that you?" she asked as she reached for the hand that was gently touching her. "Of course, who else? Now we have a lot of preparation to do for the wedding." "Yes, the wedding," she said in a sleepy voice. Then that instance she opened her eyes and was wide awake, "Oh my lord, the wedding! I have to put on my dress, I have so many things I have to do." Rynald grabbed her hands and said, "Slow down, calm yourself or else you will get sick again." He grabbed her head gently and guided it slowly to his chest, Maria listened to his heart beats, it was different than it was before, the tempo had increased, his heart beat was outrageously rapid. "See you are not the only one who is nervous and panicking, however we have to slow down, or else we won't enjoy ourselves and the future ahead of us," he said now staring directly into her eyes. "After this, we will be together from now on, forever. Until death do us apart." Death do us apart, why do these words suddenly make me uncomfortable? She thought as she grabbed her chest, her breathing suddenly got heavier and a small pain rose from her chest. "Is anything the matter? Are you in pain?" Rynald asked in a concerned voice. "I'm fine," she said, not accepting his help, "just fatigue that's all, we can't be late for our own wedding can we?" Rynald gave a surprised look, then he smiled and said, "We most certainly cannot." He got out of the carriage and raised his hand to her from the ground. "Shall we?" *** A maiden in white, marching down the aisle, her fateful partner only few steps away from her. His hands reached out for her's, she took it graciously and then wrapped her arm around his. The next few moments for her was a blissful blur, it all went so quickly that her mind was not able to comprehand the situation but her body and mouth reacted to every question as if it was instinct. At last, the main event came, the part where they would seal their vows with a kiss. It wouldn't be their first time doing it, however she felt more nervous about doing it than anything she had experienced before. Rynald closed in and lifted her veil, and brought his face closer and closer. Maria's heart beated faster and faster, she also brought her face closer, and closed her eyes and waited for their lips to meet. BOOM! Maria opened her eyes in shock, the alarming bell was ringing frantically. Ring, Ring, Ring, Ring. The bell rang in a sequence of four, it was a signal of war, the country was under attack. Screams of joy that were once present to celebrate her wedding were turned into cries of confusion. The images of her dream suddenly became vivid in front of her. Boom! Another explosion but this time the ground shook, it happened close by. Boom! Boom! As the explosions got louder, so did the screams. The guards by now had started trying to calm people down and escorting them to a safer location. Maria was still in shock, unable to understand, unable to react. Then she felt a sudden pull on her hand, she looked towards the person who was pulling her and saw that it was Rynald. "Come we have to get out of here," Rynald shouted as he pulled Maria's hand and the two started running towards the exit. The two looked for a way to escape however all the exits were packed with people. Then Maria heard a voice calling her, almost hypnotizing her, drawing her closer to something. But what could it possibly be? "Your Highness!" called the high priest from the altar, "This way! The king and the queen have already evacuated, please come this way." With Maria still in trance, Rynald forcibly grabbed her and ran towards the altar and the high priest. BOOM!!! This time the explosion took place at the castle, the ceiling was collpasing, more and more, the scenery was becoming similar to her dream. "Get out of the way Maria!" and before she knew what was happening, she was on the ground, with her dress all torn up and her hands were red with blood. Rynald? Where's Rynald? She looked where her right hand used to be holding his and found him laying there. She crawled towards him and shook him, calling his name. Why won't you get up? Rynald wake up, she thought as she placed her hand on his head. It was warm, but it was also sickly wet, she lifted her hands and saw that both her hands and his hair was dyed crimson with blood. "Do you wish to save him?" the high priest asked. He was looking down at them with eyes that showed neithre sympathy nor mercy. Maria nodded her head, she didn't care as long as Rynald was safe. "Then come, with me, behind the altar there is a secret passage. There you will find a cave at the end, if we are quick we might be able to help him, hurry!" Two guards who were with the high priest did as the high priest told them. One of them carried Rynald on his back and the other guided the group towards the secret cave that were waiting for them at the end of the passage. Maria looked back at the rubble that was once her home, and at the distance a figure surrounded by flickering white flames floated above the ruin. Her sight was blurry because of the tears but she could see that the cloaked figure was smiling and it reached out its white, flaming paw. Until death do us apart my love. |

Joseph de Mura – An Unbroken View
Act 1 part 2 400ae (Apocalyptic era) The sun rose, showing the beautiful horizon of his empire. The view that would only be seen so perfect by the top of his castle office. Still behind him Montmorency laid asleep arms clenched. This was something that had not happened sense they were young. Montmorency and Joseph knew each other all there life. Their marriage that took place three years ago it was practically arranged. It was how it was in Mura; the child of the emperor shall have his wife picked out for him by the age of five. Her family had been greatly respected by the king. It was said that this was how the king repaid Montmorency’s parents, with the marriage of their daughter. Little did they know that they would be betrayed. Joseph had been bracing all night for the moment to come. Two days time was all he had before the setup of the ritual. Villagers would cheer and praise those who did the ritual. Why wouldn’t they, they got to live without having to lose anything. They could live as ignorant as they wanted as if their heads were up there asses. The small dainty fingers that held the grip loosened and the arms slowly shifted. A small moan was released of semi-parted pink lips. Montmorency slowly awoke due to the brightness of the sun. Joseph just turned and picked her up. Holding her as he did on the day after there wedding, he walked down the castle arches towards the bedroom. Montmorency’s long dress fluttered down much father than the arms that held her. Joseph slowly set her down atop the bed and walked out silently. “Let the beauty rest,” he spoke as he closed the door. He was silent as a mouse but was always caught by someone. “Sire, there are things you must do in time for the ritual. These things cannot wait any longer. You have pushed them far enough.” Spoke the rather tidy looking attendant. The attendant looked rather small in comparison to Joseph. About five feet three, compared to the five eleven that was Joseph. His short red hair seemed oh so common compared to those born under the main family branch, where it was long sleek and black. Red was the hair color of Mura. Almost all born in Mura are born with red hair, with the exception of the royal family. The small attendant that goes by the name of Lyon walked down the hall past the quarters of the guards. Guards walked back in and out of the quarters, for there shifts or to get off them. All but four guards were hustling. Instead they were sitting at a table eating lunch. They spoke loudly but due to other noise all that could be heard by Joseph was “A new queen in…. took seat and marriage …. Just in time for her to be screwed as ……is…. perfectly timed” Joseph looked forward as he had been almost ten feet away from the men. He had made it quite easy for them to notice he was eavesdropping. As he turned forward he hit the back of his attendant. Lyon’s arm fell off, then the other. Without even relishing or noticing the great beast that had killed his attendant. Without warning, yells and screams could be heard from behind him. In the guard quarters. A few guards had flown outside the doorway only to smash to there death with the help of the wall. The group of four just got up from there seats before a second beast had crashed through the wall killing two instantaneously. The movement of metal and unsheathing of swords could be heard almost the whole time. One after one guards would strike only to be thrown aside by one of there massive arms. One of the guards that had been tossed aside landed and skid across the floor towards Joseph. Bending down over the body Joseph picked up the sword that lay clenched in the dead mans lifeless bloody hand. Clenching it in his he ran forward aiding the guards that gave there lives to save his empire. Another body flew towards Joseph. Dodging just slightly by turning his waist and leaning back. He continued to advance towards his target. Two guards that resided in front of him charged towards the beast and stabbed it with both there halberds. The beast screeched and waved its arms in pain. Joseph took this to an advantage and trusted the long blade into the throat of the big monstrosity. Clenching its hands around its neck it fell to the ground splashing everyone around it, in its own freshly spilt blood. The other had been watching mouth open teeth bearing. It watched as if it enjoyed its kind being killed. “I guess the thought of a monster runs lower than skin deep,” Joseph said mockingly as if the beast would understand. His words may have been quick but this beast was quicker. The right arm of this beast swung forward knocking Joseph back, nearly beaking his ribs. The beast gave Joseph no chance to get up or move at all before it lunged forward and pounced. Without thinking Joseph’s body moved away. Joseph rolled to the side of the beast and lunged upward only to be smacked down again. Joseph hit the floor with such pressure it caused him to cough up a generous amount of blood. His now blood stained shirt seemed to be soaked in blood. The back of his shirt had darkened spots of blood from where shards of rock and other metals have punctured his skin. He rose from where he fell only to realize that moving was going to be hard. Pain shot up in every way in every muscle. Cramps formed up in his legs and he almost buckled under his own weight. The large beats walked forward rather slowly. Each step seemed to shake the floor beneath them. One of the steps made Joseph fall over due to miss balance. Joseph Grabbed the closest object and hurdled it towards the beast. More pain shot up from Joseph’s arm it had done more damage to Joseph than it had to the beast. Giant teeth and jaws moved close to Joseph’s face, he had moved as far back as he could before the wall hindered his movement. Without notice the best screeched in pain as a large bang could be heard. A large bang? |
