[question][answered]Anime Planet Export List!?
 

Seriously where is the Anime Planet export list for MyAnimeList. Refilling all those entries is going to be hell, is there a way to do this?

There is no export functionality, and (as far as i know) no plans to add it. If/when an export feature is added it will most likely be some sort of plain txt format for personal backup purposes, it certainly wouldn't be something to encourage people to go to a competing site such as mal.

we plan on having an export function eventually, but it is very low priority compared to other features, like the badges that just came out :)

pretty please move it up a bit higher on the priority list.. I get nervous not being able to back things up :) no.. really.. i have 18TB of HDD space and 9TB of it is back up of the first 9TB :P

definitely still planned, just not on the super close horizon - i may be able to bring onboard some volunteer devs soon to get a few things done, and if so, export will be on their list.

theres some bigger/more important major design and feature changes soon that take precedence :)

Also: If you want to back it up, just use "save page as" on chrome on each of the pages. It can take 10-15 minutes if your list is long, but the peace of mind is wonderful. All the data is there- so if anything goes wrong with the site automator (Or any macro program) should be able to convert it into any format you need.

If you log out & then view your lists, they'll be in a "form"less format, one which can easily be be copy/pasted into a text file. The only real drawback is the fact that the site won't let you list more than 50(?) anime per page, so if you have a long list you have to go through many pages. I used this technic & printing to PDF when v2 went down (although it was easier then, since I could choose to list all my anime at once).
