Well, it's missing more than a few days... When will we be able to change our emails?

not sure, its been that way since v3 launch. i'm at a loss as to how to require people to re-verify their email address if they change it. if anyone has ideas im open to suggestion.

right now when you register, you can't log in until you've activated your account (ie it proves your email is real). if you change your email it should require you to activate again, basically, but what's the behavior? you get immediately logged out and are stuck? etc.

if you get to keep using your acct anyways, it means people can change it to a fake one right after using a real one.

1) Does that really matter? ....especially since people can simply sign up using a throwaway/temp email address anyway & achieve the same net effect.


2) The way most sites seem to handle it is that the email change doesn't actually take effect until they confirm the address. If they never confirm it, then it never changes. Their acct will continue to work as it always had, but it wil;l continue to use the old address until they confirm the new one.
ie, instead of; user changes email->server changes email->server sends confirmation to new email
it would go; user changes email->server sends confirmation to new email->user confirms the address->server changes email
