[ANSWERED][QUESTION] What's with the downtime?

Over the past week I've been getting frequent not too long outages for AP, as if the server were rebooting several times a day (GMT). I confirmed some of them with other people.

If that's intentional, I don't know of a timezone to do it in without affecting somebody, either...

I know the site was down for around an hour yesterday, and there have been other times when I can connect at all but it only lasts for a few minutes. There also seem to be occasions when the whole site slows to a snails pace, but it soon picks back up.

I guess its with all of the beta work going on in the background :)

It's been snail slow consistantly for the past week or so here, but there were no actual outages until the one yesterday. After that though, the site has been sailing along. I suspect that something in the beta code may have some kind of slow memory leak.

Afaik the blackbox is still being searched so please pick the reason you like most:

• North korean conspiracy
• Solar flares
• A little blurp in timespace continuum
• The server went emo
• Its the carriers fault or something happened with it

Don't be silly. We don't know anything. A memory leak in garbage collected code? Especially a slow one, when allocations don't persists across requests? That'd have to be another bug in PHP.

Don't remember where I first heard about that, but did you know it was implemented? Printer, Scanner, OCR

v3 is being launched within approximately 24 hours. we're doing a lot of stuff on the back end that you guys aren't seeing.

1) there was a pretty insane recursion bug on the beta site (on our same server, mind you) that we didn't notice for a few hours, within the last few days, that was slowing down the server massively.

2) we've upgraded hte postgres software and did a live/beta backup about 7 hours ago, to get an alt server set up to test the upgrade script for beta->live
