[ANSWERED][QUESTION] never got points for righting a review and getting screen shots

hey a long time ago i had sugested the zoid series and i ended up doing 1 myself but i never was rewarded my points that i was promised. Am i ever going to be given them or is the point system a bunch of bull?

Lol. One set of screenshots and one review which you 'rote', eh? Well done. What magical prize are you hoping to claim with that one, single point you've clocked up? The points system is not bull, but it doesn't show anywhere - never has. I write lots of reviews for the site and my points count has always shown up as 0. However, sothis keeps tabs, so don't panic, your point is safe.

EDIT: More to the point, I don't remember your one review ever being published on the site, and did you make sure that your zoids screens were used for the zoids entry? Because if no to both, then you actually have no points at all. Lol.

vivis, how many points do you need anyway for a dvd or some other gadgets? back when the site was still up, i just listed some prizes without a price :D

i always thought that the prize system has been disbanded. ive never seen anyone with points or whatever so i didnt even ask...

Back when there was an actual prize to be given up, I believe it was to someone to choose the best for the contest. The winner ended up winning a DVD, apparent it was only U.S and Canadian members. From what I remember, Sothis got a special gift from a company and gave her free DVDs. Can't remember back then!

Maybe her grace could come and refresh our memories

Oh, the prize system is still active I believe. Because sothis will tease us once in a while to write more reviews for them. I've just never claimed on my points and I'm not particularly bothered how much I have right now nor looked at how much the points are worth. My aim is to cash in on 10000000000000000 points one day - just to give sothis something to do. Haha!

In all honesty, though, this is probably at the bottom of her long list of priorities - in fact, make that 'she has buried this far far beneath the ground upon which her list of priorities sit'. I just can't believe someone would bring up 1.5 points as a problem when sothis is focusing on restructuring the entire site from the ground up. Just made me laugh.

ive told each and every person who i've u sed an entry from that while points dont show up on the site, that i keep track of who has submitted what in a notepad file.

so calm down please.

and yes, 1 point will get you zero prizes - it's currently 25 to get a dvd. i still have a ton of dvds.

once full v3 is up and things are running themselves, it'll be easier for me to get the point system more automated and showing up online.

Well... I was going to reply here saying that the points don't show up but that soth tracks them manually, but she beat me to it. :p

When the site was still up, it did list "prices", you had to click on the "win prizes" link at the bottom of the lefthand column.

It always kinda cracks me up when I see people making such a fuss about the points, I've never cared about the points myself. When I submit something, I do it merely because I want to, I'm never seeking points or prizes.

Same here! I help add because I can. Also it means that I get to add stuff I've seen to my list, plus, you know, it's nice to be able to give back to the site even in a small way. :)

Precisely. It's quite satisfying to see your entries or reviews go up on the site, and I enjoy doing them especially for series I'm excited about. Hehehe. Hmmm. Favourite entries: Darker than Black, Vampire Knight, and Toward the Terra TV - just cause I liked my synopses for those.
