As for my laptop status, I e-mailed PowerNotebooks about the black screen problem on Win7, and it turns out that I had to update the BIOS for the video card (not the mobo).

I did that, and I was able to get rid of the black screen problem (knock on wood).

As for dual-booting Win7 and Ubuntu 10.04, do I install Win7 first, and then Ubuntu?

I always think in my head u bunta <_< have to correct myself. Almost said it a few times in person too. I guess because I am used to anime/manga characters being called Bunta.

Yes, install windows first-- then your linux distribution.

If you install Linux first, windows will wipe out GRUB, the linux bootloader, and you won't be able to access your linux partition.

When you install linux second, GRUB will auto-detect the windows partition during the installation and set itself up for dual-boot.

Alright my fellow geeks I have a question.

Is there anyway to avoid DRM in games or other software? As in I would love to play the first Crysis but it has SecuROM(even the steam version). I hear that is a pain and a half to remove. Acts like a root kit so I hear anyway.

I always purchase my games so no pirating here.

There is, I do not know how to do it though. Your best bet would be to just buy it and then download the "pirate" edition.
