Welcome!

In an ongoing effort to better Anime Planet as a whole, we present to you the newest and greatest club TACO: The Anime-Planet Contributors Organization.

Our goal is to compete against each other to see who can contribute the most to Anime Planet! All rules are listed below and, of course, anyone who wants to join is more then welcome too.

NOTE: All rules, prizes, and prize costs are subject to change at any time.

Rules

Members are given points based on the number of Recommendations, Reviews Donations, and Manga and/or Anime added to the Database. (Unless otherwise noted, you must personally submit the necessary information for it to be counted.)

- [1 Point] Recommendations created BEFORE you join the club. (NOTE: This will automatically be calculated for all new members)

- [5 Points] Recommendations created AFTER you join the club.

- [25 Points] Anime Entries created AFTER you join the club.

- [25 Points] User Reviews Anime/Manga.
Rules for User Reviews!

Add a user review for any manga or anime.

RULES:
1. like with any user review, you need to be FINISHED with the series (and/or have seen it in the first place, haha); IE, if you've dropped it and are totally done a review is good then. if you're permanently stalled for awhile that's ok. fully watched/read is ok. reviews for currently airing are fine too assuming a decent amount is out and/or you finish it off later if needed once you're done.

2. the review needs to be at least a full paragraph - please make it somewhat useful for people reading :)

REMINDER: user reviews don't have to be many paragraphs, or even have good english! they can be as little as a single paragraph - they just need to explain what you thought of the series (spoiler free please!) and any extra tips for the reader.

Rules for WYW!

-you need to make atleast 5 recommendations for the series that are a part of the WYW event at that time.

-recommendations must be made within 3 days of the end of the event

-even if you didn't participate in the event (because you had already seen the titles, etc), if you hadn't made recommendations already for that series you can add them in the same timeframe to get the points. *note: if you delete and re-add recommendations you'll be disqualified and Sothis wont be happy ;)

-as always, please only make recommendations for SOLID pairings. don't add bad recs just because you want the points, as that wastes valuable time (for Sothis, who has to struggle with deciding to flag something or not)

- [100 Points] Manga Entries created AFTER you join the club.

- [200 Points/US Dollar] Donations made AFTER you join the club. Right now All donations during V3 give double points!

Sure, we work hard (well, technically I don't), but we also play hard! That's why, as a special bonus to our biggest contributors, we will offer prizes to members who reach certain point levels. You can choose one prize from every category you qualify for.

1. Put a short message of your choice (no link) in a designated section in her site bio, for a period of time (She hasn't decided how long, she'll probably forget and itll be up for awhile :p)

2. You can force ONE of the following people to watch an ENTIRE anime series of your choosing. [size](NOTE: Each individual may have particular limitations such as a maximum number of episodes. Please contact them privately.):

[2500 Points] - Choose ONE:

1. You can change ONE OTHER persons forum title for a week ( Must be submitted in the thread and Approved by Pidjiken )

1. You can force ONE of the following people to watch an entire anime of your choosing AND write a review of it (NOTE: A freaking review! Can you believe it!?):

[5000 Points] - Choose ONE:

1. You can choose a custom user title for under your forum name! ( Must be submitted in the thread and Approved by Pidjiken ):

[8000 Points] - Choose ONE:

1. Sothis shall allow you to: (NOTE: Nothing offensive or super ecchi.)

1. TOTALLY REPLACE the big part of her forum signature with whatever you want (your own custom sig, a totally different banner, a few square banners, ANYTHING), for a week. This would be a great opportunity for you to whore out your blog, personal site, or something else you want to get lots of eyes at ;) She posts a lot, so it would be very visible.

2. Post a custom brief writeup of your personal blog or site, linked from her site bio, for a week. also a very big deal - so anyone reading her site bio, which is a TON of people per day, would see a personal message from her about your site. if you've wanted to promote your blog/site, this is a great way to do it. i'll look at the site and write a few notes about it.

Perhaps members of this club should dedicate themselves to helping AP in other ways also, including (but not limited to):

1.) Donating money.

2.) Increasing site traffic by promoting the site to others.

NOTE #1: Try using your anime planet signature on any other forums you frequent. People think those are really cool.

3.) Adding to the AniRec Database.

What about writing anime or manga synopsis' for the site?

Uh... very, very good question. Let me look into that. And yes, both ways counts.

I mean, you can go to your Watched but no Recs list and subtract that count from your watched/watching list but...math!

BRILLIANT!

For example, I have watched 88 animes (one of my favorite numbers, by the way), and there are 74 shows under the "watched but no recs" option. I have also made no reviews.

For those who like math:

("watched" - "watched but no recs") + (15 x "number of reviews") = SCORE

That means I have 14 points. How embarrassing for me...

Look over your watching list. Just because you haven't finished watching something doesn't mean you have not recced it...
Also, how many anime are listed on a page? I have a page and a quarter of watched but no recs.

And yes, this isn't a perfect system. We'll have to refine it over time.

Honestly maybe just doing additions to the databases and reviews might be easier...
