lol? you don't need to wait turns, it's just like a vocal chat with your friends. Not to mention it's a lot faster to say something than the combined time of typing/reading.

Plus you can sync your anime wand watch it with multiple people at the same time for live commentary. :p

Also, you can't hear people sing with text ;o

I've been using vent for years now. Never had a single problem and regardless of the amount of people in the channel it was done a lot faster than if everyone got stupid and started typing. Not to mention the fact that you can type if you really wanted to. It's essentially IRC + the ability to talk.

So your friends all speak at once?

The time for typing is always 1 times the average amount of text O, because you only have to type what you want to say. The time for listening is N*O for the number of participants. Now everybody reads faster than they talk, plus you can skim, so that will be divided by a speed factor, which means text scales better.
