Hey all,
I was hoping I'd find a thread like this. So here's some series that I'd like to watch with someone else and discuss: -Giant Robo OAV -Royal Space Force: Wings of Honneamise (anime movie loosely based on the "space race" between America and the Soviet Union during the cold war.) -Heat Guy J -Gun x Sword -Hokuto No Ken (original series) -Anything Ghibli -Anything Shirow Masamune (Ghost in the Shell, Dominion, etc) -Anything Gainax (Gunbuster, Evangelion, FLCL, Gurren Lagann, etc) |

Hey, CoffeehouseTengu. Awesome that you came by.
Regarding the 'Anything' choices, I can add them as they are with no link; when your buddy group has made its choice as to what specific anime you're watching, please inform me so I can create a proper entry for it. Okey dokey. ^_^ EDIT: I added all your choices, CT, but I'm starting to realise how we could end up with a host of un-buddied anime listed. So I've changed the rules to people having a maximum of three requests up at a time. So from now on, please pick three specific anime at a time that you'd like others to join you with. :)

The centralized listing is getting cumbersome. How about splitting this thread into meta and management? The latter would have a single post per show, created by one of the watchers and regularly edited.

Hey Vivis, thanks for the welcome, and belated-thanks for the Introduction response =)
Sorry about the vagueness and the "Everything by X" posts. If/when I get some hits or find an anime in the list I'll make sure to keep this updated. For clarity's sake you can strip off those vague ones. I'm sure I'll eventually get a rep for showing those groups love anyway. =) Also, anyone who wants to contact me directly can do so via my newly christened YIM: coffeehousetengu Also how is Koi Kaze? It sounds like a cute series and I'd love to join ya in watching it. Do you have a good resource to garner the episodes from on short notice? If you can give me a good torrent / FTP / whatever I'll try to snag the first block of episodes by tomorrow or thereabouts. =) EDIT: I know it's not technically "anime", but would anyone be interested in watching the original X-Men (90s Fox version), Batman TAS or Justice League? |

A truly great idea, Vivis!
Sign me up for the Kaiba group- I started it a while ago and liked it a lot, but never got around to finishing it. I'd love to give it another go. :) Hell yes. I recently re-watched the first season of Batman TAS and it was just as great as I remember it. With which one do you want to start? |

I have Volume 2 on DVD somewhere (which incidentally is like episodes 22-44 or something). Alternatively if your willing to wait a few days I'll be happy to procure other episodes.
If I had to call a favourite episode off the top of my head though, I'd have to say "Almost Got 'Em" ranks amongst my favorite in direction and ambiance. Really the whole thing is just beautiful in it's self referential humor. On the topic of Batman, how do you feel about Batman Beyond / Batman of the Future? I always felt it was a worthy successor to the dark-deco style that the original pioneered. Here's a thought: rather than the series how would you feel about watching either the TAS movie "Batman: Mask of the Phantasm" or the Batman Beyond pilot film "Batman of the Future"? |

Thank you so much for creating this thread Vivi, it helps so much :) I also think it's a great idea of getting discussion groups for series going.

Well, Hokuto No Ken is one of those series like Inuyasha where once you've seen an episode you've pretty much seen them all. Not riveting, but it does have a MANLY protagonist =)
Kamichu sounds like it could be really cute in the vein of Fruits Basket or even I,My,Me Strawberry Eggs. |

Everyone's requests have been added up to this point. APART FROM:
Batman (not an anime) I'm also not sure if CoffeehouseTengu wants to be added to Kamichu or if mariprosa is asking to be added to Hokuto no Ken. Please state explicitly if you do. :)
