I'm pretty sure mod powers can't be given to only a specific thread. They'd have to be granted to the entire "Club Chat" forum which isn't really an option. If FYAB had its own subforum like the Gamers Club or the Monthly Marathon, it'd be doable probably, since mod powers could just be granted over that subforum. But as it's currently structured, Vivis' answer is the only feasible solution.
