NOTE: Change: Opening Door to OVAs/Movies
After much discussion and debate, we've decided to just let short watch anime into the majority of categories and see how it goes.
The exceptions are animation (budget is still an issue) and best series overall. (becuase it's the best *series* overall) Working as fast as we can to get them all placed into genres, doing some chat-consulting and such. Won't be perfect, but there shouldn't be anything egregiously dumb. However, we will definitely need help with the leads list. Anyone who can make suggestions, please do so in this thread. Remember, we're looking for at most one single most-major lead character of each gender wherever reasonably possible. (as in, exceptions are fine, but only for good cause) With that in mind, suggest away. Here's the list for reference:

Concerning classification of roles:
How unhelpful is a site like this? As regarding this specific OVA, Mai-Otome 0~S.ifr~, S.ifr Fran is doubtlessly the protagonist, though she does not take much initiative: she mainly endures. So you might want to reconsider giving her the title of lead-role. If you do so, then you should relay this title to both Lena Sayers and Bruce Wallace. The presence of Lena is more prominent than that of Bruce, so I don't think you should say Bruce is male lead & only S.Ifr is female lead. As for the villains in this series, that's John Smith and Kiddo, who first serves John Smith and later also 'becomes' him (that's in epilogue).

Given the general lack of response, I'm kinda doubting that there are any reasonable odds of getting that list filled out at this point -.-' Thanks for the help though.

Male: It sorta lacks in guys. Closest would be the villian Apos, but... Female: Asougi Rin. Lucky Star OVA: Male: There are no guys in lucky star. Female: Konata, since everyone else is dragged behind her antics. Ghost in the Shell 2.0: Same leads as Ghost in the Shell 1.0. Female: "Major" Makoto Kasanagi Male: Batou (no last (first?) name given) Would be safe to assume that for Detective Conan, the male main character would be Conan himself, and Bleach follows the adventures of Ichigo Kurosaki. The Sky Crawlers is too difficult to understand for me to piece together any sort of lead from. |
