The opening portion of the show sets the mood for what I'm about to watch. When the Op is well executed it evokes a fond memory of when I first watched it way back when.

Well said, in my opinion, that's what this vote should be all about. But obviously, that can only be achieved if you actually like the song - otherwise the memory won't be particularly fond hehe
