I've yet to meet a single fan of the VN that didn't think the anime was any better than utter crap. Well . . . maybe ONE who thought the anime was just crap. And this is not a much of an exaggeration. I no of no one who is a fan of the VN that actually LIKE the anime. It's that bad in terms of cutting stuff out of the story. Umineko is better in that it doesn't cut things out; it just gives too much time for little things and glosses over major events.
