I can't stand watching mecha anime, and yet the following one if certainly in my top10:
Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann I love the whole drilling thing they have going on there :3

gundam seed - Lots of different mecha's with cool designs and abilities
Tengen Toppa Gurren Laggen (don't know if thats right spelling) - original designs Full Metal Panic Nothing too special, but great idea with the special power mecha Neon Genesis Evangelion Loved what the mecha's were based on Code Geass very precise mecha's and excellent show
