The last 3 due to compressing video games into limited anime series (sure SRW was 26 episodes, but it would have to have been longer to encompass the story correctly)

Oh god this is so common in anime that it's hard to only pick 5. I guess I'll go with:

As a side note, I don't think Bleach and Naruto suffer from having too many characters because each of those shows is extremely long. Having a lot of characters is fine when you have 100 episodes to develop everyone; the main problem is when you have a horde of characters and no time to actually develop them all.

Seasons really do need to be specified, as theoretically these will someday be in a mainsite archive somewhere with links to the appropriate anirec pages. (which is also why we have to vote for actual anime and not characters, etc.) In any case, I tried to handle the vagueness as best I could.

Gundam Seed and 00 definately have a lot. I like Gundam 00 as well, but when you need a phone book to name everyone your in trouble.

My Hime. When the end shot of the entire cast is so big that it seems to not fit on the screen we need some help. Still it manages to be good, just so many people.

I will agree with Code Geass and Bleach too. Bleach amazingly enough never runs out of uniqueness in look though. A unique outfit here, a tatoo there, an odd hair style there, viola new bount.

Legend of Galactic Heroes has a hell of a cast.

I don't mind a huge cast though, if they are introduced after a long period of time, I just hate landing in the middle of a soap opera, with 20 stories all at once, like CG and G-00 did.

I agree with most of yours

Bleach- they kept adding and adding and adding. There doesn't need to be a dozen new characters every half arc.

Ranma 1/2- practically added one in every few episodes

Gundam 00- The first season just kept me thinking over and over... Jesus christ, not another one. I don't even know the names of the ones they have.

Legend of the galactic heroes- Musta had 100 characters and they expect you to remember guys from episode 3 in like, episode 70.

One piece- They make a whole bunch of people for every arc then kick them to the curb

Bleach for sure. After the first arc it already had enough characters, after every arc that followed the kept about 3+ characters around continually adding to the total.

On a side note I think Kon is an awesome character and he shouldn't be limited to just the filler episodes.

1. Bleach - Though a lot of characters are used, a lot of them aren't developed (erm, lieutenants of a lot of divisions aren't developed).

2. Naruto - Holy cow, how many do they have?

3. Code Geass - A LOT, especially season 2.

4. Darker Than BLACK - though a lot died too hehe :p

5. All Gundam Series, specially Seed Destiny
