11/23/08 - Top 5 sequels - Anime-Planet forum

There aren't a *ton* of these out there, but just going through my own list I spotted around 20, so I suppose there should be enough. This week we'll vote for our top 5 sequels.

Lets go ahead and say direct sequels only; other than that I think most of us know what a sequel is -.-'

This was harder than i thought it would be. I had to cull this from my watched and watching lists. So in no particular order...

Black Lagoon: The Second Barrage
Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu
Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion R2
Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex 2nd Gig

Gunbuster 2 (just damn cooler than the original - the bridge between Gunbuster and Gurren Lagann, if you will...)
Urusei Yatsura 2: Beautiful Dreamer (I haven't seen the originals - but this is very good)
The Big O II (better than the original - amps up the weirdness and pscyhobabble from episode one right up to the baffling finish)
Black Lagoon: The Second Barrage (just as awesome as its predecessor)
Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Overture to a New War (technically, a sequel to Legend of the Galactic Heroes: My Conquest is the Sea of Stars)
