10/5/08 - 5 anime with best ending themes - Anime-Planet forum

Keeping it simple; this week we'll vote for 5 anime with our favorite ending themes. This could be pretty interesting - generally OPs get a lot more attention, and there are probably people out there who don't bother to watch the end themes very often. Plus, EDs usually need to have a different sort of feel than an opening theme. So, which are your favorites?

Welcome to the NHK (Odoru Akachan Ningen) - Hilarious song, hilarious animation, catchy and addictive as hell. I didn't just watch this ending every time, I watched it twice .
Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei (Zessei Bijin) - Every bit as twisted and stylishly animated as the first animated opening, not to mention an appropriately jazzy number with funny lyrics.
FLCL (Ride on Shooting Star) - ... actually for pretty similar reasons as the first two. Lyrics are more deliberately nonsensical, though.
Spice and Wolf (Whistling Song) - Speaking of nonsensical, this is pretty quirky stuff. Odd apple-themed animation and an Engrish song so nonsensical it boggles the mind.
Paranoia Agent (Maromi's Theme) - A relaxing and gentle way to end each episode with, well, relevant imagery.

The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (I just had to add it. I love the dance :P)
Cowboy bebop (Simply great)
Naruto (I like most of them)
Ghost Hound (Such a sad song)
Clannad (So cute, beautiful and eerie at the same time. Btw, the bunny in the moon is freaking creepy and the Pikachu version is much cuter

)

Bleach - Life is a Boat - Rie Fu
Ergo Proxy - Paranoid android

That is the ONLY ending theme that has ever stuck with me. Normally openings stick with me, but in the case of Bleach (even tho I don't even like the show all that much), it made me really fall in love with her as an artist. =)

I personally find ED themes much better than OP themes in general. A list of the top 20 OP/EDs I made for another forum had 5 OPs and 15 EDs, and the 5 or so that didn't make the cut were all EDs.

Samurai Champloo - Shiki no Uta
Simoun - Inori no Uta
Licensed by Royal - Negai no Toki

Special mention:
Utawarerumono last epsiode - Kimi ga Tame (single episode doesn't really count)
Kara no Kyoukai: Garan no Dou - Aria (eh, most people here haven't seen this)

Sort of an easy one, since good ED themes are so damn RARE.

Kannazuki no Miko "Agony" by KOTOKO (the way it would always fade in during the last seconds of the final scene of every episode was just brilliant)
Kimi ga Nozomu Eien "Kimi ga Nozomu Eien" by MEGUMI

and in the "not-as-good-but-still-good" category: SaiKano ( "Sayonara" by Yuria Yato ) and Crest of the Stars ("Ushinawareta Aozora" by TimeSlip-Rendzvous).
