6/1/08 - Top 5 OAVs/Movies
I'm getting progressively later putting these up >.<
Anyway, I figure we'll keep it simple this week and vote for our top 5 OAVs/Movies. Just in case, let's say that any of those series that are technically classified as OAVs despite being comprised of like twelve 25-minute episodes shouldn't count. Pretty straightforward otherwise; with their larger budgets and shorter lengths, OAVs and Movies exist in their own little universe compared to the tv series. Which of these quick watches are your favorites? Tokyo Godfathers Princess Mononoke FLCL Sword of the Stranger Bleh, this is pretty hard. I think Millennium Actress, Comedy, and Cat Soup could have just as easily have gotten my 5th vote, but I wanted to pick something from the action genre.

Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket
Mobile Suit Gundam: 08th MS Team Castle in the Sky Perfect Blue Rurouni Kenshin: Tsuiokuhen 08th MS Team doesn't count? It's not like it aired at TV speed... it took 3 years to release 12 episodes and it was released as OVA installments. Why shouldn't this count? An OVA isn't a matter of length, it's a matter quality, as you said, and most technically, a matter of how it was released.
