Last time was a pretty wide-open topic, so for this week we'll go a bit on the narrow side and vote for the 5 anime with the best art styles.
There are a number of anime out there that choose to deviate from the standard way of drawing things. They might use cel-shading, or heavy cg, or draw the characters' faces in some unique way, or any number of things. Which series have you seen whose art style you particularly liked? Happy Voting ^_^ ***Voting Closed*** This week's top 5: Mushishi Princess Mononoke Last Exile Gankutsuou Seirei no Moribito Thanks for voting! Last edited by Cetonis; 05-19-2008 at 03:56 PM. |

visually pleasing and/or interesting shows:
Mushishi Last Exile Diary of Tortov Roddle Princess Mononoke and Howl's Moving Castle (though almost everything Ghibli looks interesting/ incredible) |

Utena - characters may not have the most appealing designs (WHERE ARE THEIR PUPILS?!), but every other visual aspect of that show is pretty much perfect for the story.
Evangelion - This show pretty much defines the "anime style" for me. Appleseed - The 2004 one, of course. Pretty darn revolutionary. Death Note - The setting may have been a typical modern city (done very well at that), but I don't think I've seen a show handle camera angles so incredibly well. Place Promised in Our Early Days - man, I need to get my hands on 5 Centimeters per Second. Really bad. Shinkai ftw. |

Hmm, style eh? Well, at least it's different than best art.
Last Exile - Range Murata Hoshi no Koe - The best at panning and scanning Kakurenbo - Just watch Mahou Shoujo Tai Arusu - Unique like Sugar Sugar Rune without looking like meth-heads Alien Nine - Never have chibis been so out of place and yet so right Special mention Plastic Little - Satoshi Urushihara Haibane Renmei - Yoshitoshi ABe |
