I'd like to avoid doing vastly confusing topics back to back, so this week we'll vote for our 5 favorite mediocre anime.
Most of us can think of a few shows that we know aren't really all that good by most measures, yet we enjoyed nonetheless. "Pet" anime that we couldn't necessarily laud praise on but still think back on fondly, or series that manage to be a likable experience despite being plagued by a multitude of major issues. There are plenty of mediocre anime out there; which are your favorites? (just in case it comes up, this is not the same as underrated - underrated is "<anime> doesn't get the credit it deserves," whereas with a average-ish anime you happened to like you might say "<anime> really isn't anything special, (or even just plain bad) but I still enjoyed it a lot.") Happy Voting ^_^ ***Voting Closed*** Wow, I actually had to roll a d20 to resolve the tie for spots 4 and 5 -.-' Anyway, this week's top 5: Karin Initial D Kannazuki no Miko History's Strongest Disciple Ken'ichi Tactics Thanks for voting! Yokohama Shopping Diary: Alpha expresses some pretty intricate emotions but most of the subplots are uneventful.
Read or Die: It's a little oddly melodramatic for how ridiculous it is. It took me by surprise how seriously this OVA ends up taking itself. The premise is pretty amusing though. Magic Users Club: It's like harem and shoujo mixed together, but with bits of high school drama. Bah, discovering self confidence is a soft spot of mine. Gunbuster 2: Sometimes I'm not sure if it's appealing to or parodying the freakish names of old school mecha attacks and the equally freakish need to yell them out. It's visually appealing and quick. IGPX: I like Takeshi? |

- Onegai Teacher
- Marmalade Boy - Digimon (I'd say probably worse than mediocre, but I still like it :P) - Iketeru Futari - Desert Punk (Barely mediocre) Honorable Mentions: Aishiteruze Baby, Steamboy (I don't see this as mediocre, but most people do), Wild Arms, Momoiro Sisters, Kyou No Go No Ni (don't really consider this as mediocre, but it can count), Scryed (seems to be concieved as mediocre by most, I don't think it is though, which is why it won't go in the list)
