Hikaru no Go
Touch Princess Nine Zoids New Century/Zero HikaGo - It's a board game... a LONG board game, but this show makes it easy to understand and exciting to watch. Touch - Last I knew it still held the distinction as the TV anime that has yielded the biggest ratings share in Japan, and it's for good reason. The thing is really long (101 episodes), and I haven't finished it yet (2/3 of the way), but there's been enough baseball and drama (and having a couple really cool opening themes doesn't hurt either) that it's easily one of the best sports anime I've seen. If you don't mind the old-school look (was it 1985?), it's a good watch. Princess Nine - This is the only anime my mom has actually liked. More baseball and more teamwork and more personal drama! :D And some girls looking to stand up to the boys and show them they can hold their own. Zoids: New Century/Zero - To avoid any possible confusion, this is the Bit Cloud one with the tournament and the judges and the rankings. I don't know, I just really enjoyed this when it was on Cartoon Network back in the day. And even taking a look back (ah, dub-only DVDs....) it still holds up pretty well. |

Hahaha the closest thing I could think of was Kyo Kara Maoh, because Yuuri's a baseball fanatic. But I would never say that series was about baseball, so I think I must sit this week out. :p I got nothin'!

Ashita no Joe
If anything Stallone ripped off Ashita no Joe to make Rocky.

Prince of Tennis
Hajime no Ippo Hikaru no Go Um... I don't really want to nominate the OAVs to either of those since all of them are continuations of the main story (both Ippo movies, PoT national championships and the extra for HnG). |
