Gurren-Lagann, Romeo x Juliet, Darker than Black, Hayate no Gotoku, Lucky Star
Of the handful of spring shows that I actually look forward to watching, Gurren-Lagann stands out as one that consistently delivers quality content on a week-to-week basis. Everything else either has problems that completely turn me off, or simply is just plain boring. EDIT: Oh, guess we're supposed to pick five. Last edited by Roxas; 06-25-2007 at 01:15 AM. |

indeed, this will be a special selective kind of week, but hopefully for those of us like me and you who aren't caught up, it will serve as a good guide of what is good to watch this season ^_^ |

For those of you who need to do some catching up, Jaalin's power rankings generally give a good idea of which shows are being good and which aren't. I don't exactly agree with the exact order of his rankings (especially Nanoha StrikerS being below awful things like Xenoglossia), but the top fifteen or so are all pretty decent shows and he goes over their strengths fairly accurately. |

My votes: Lovely Complex, Seto no Hanayome, Seirei no Moribito, El Cazador de la Bruja, Claymore.
Non-voting comments: A lot of this is actually guesswork, since I watch most shows when they're complete, not as they come out. But I've been following Lovely Complex, which is a fantastic show, and the other 4 had really promising first episodes... ^_^;; |

Seto no Hanayome, Koutetsushin Jeeg, Hayate the Combat Butler, Hidamari Sketch (is it even this season? I forget.)
Uhm, a fifth? Claymore or Lucky Star, I guess (Claymore has an awesome manga (after a shaky start), but I haven't started watching the show yet. LS isn't really as good as the fanbase will say, but it's still amusing, I guess). I don't really watch much from the new season. I watch Darker than Black, but I don't think it's really all that good. I haven't started Gurren yet, since I'll wait for it to be finished first (and try and avoid the spoilers, though it's mostly impossible.) Maria-sama's always a solid bet, and if OVA's can be counted, then Genshiken fits... Short reasons for my picks? Seto: Insane, dialects, Halko, episode eight and ten. Koutetsushin Jeeg: Hotblood, Nagai, oldschool, hell pimp slap, oppai drill. Hayate the Combat Butler: Effective translation of the manga, Rie, NORIO (though he's not at his best here, it sounds like he's trying too hard?). Hidamari Sketch: Cute. CUTE. Occasionally moe, occasionally hilarious, occasionally surprisingly servicey. |

1) Seirei no Moribito
2) Claymore 3) Darker than Black 4) El Cazador de la Bruja 5) Lovely Complex Lynk: I think Hidamari Sketch is considered last season. However, I doubt it will place; so, I don't think it is an issue. I really like it myself, but I don't think enough people are watching it to vote it into a winning position. Besides Claymore and Seirei no Moribito should grind it into the dust with votes. |
