elfen lied when it comes to alot of diffrent characthers 3 x 3 Eyes - Seima Densetsu when it comes to one single person (yakumo sure as hell get a lot of beating)

Now and Then, Here and There; Elfen Lied; Jojo's Bizarre Adventure; Tokkou; Speed Grapher
While not exatly a gorefest, Now and Then... had some of the most disturbing violence I've seen in anime. Might just be I wasn't so desensitized back then. That and Elfen Lied were the obvious choices for me, after that there were too many to choose from. Tokkou is probably gorier than anything I voted (apart from EL) but ultimately it came down to how much impact the violence had on me when I watched it. Hmm, Elfen Lied, I guess. Now and Then... has one of the most disturbing (as in unwashed footbal socks in your face disturbing) main characters though ^_~ Otherwise I don't recall much violent series - in anime. Akira -Mayabe because i was small when i saw it for the first time Sothis: "Bloody" would beg to include anime like Hellsing and its not violent.
