Escaflowne, Evangelion, Code Geass
In the first two, the mecha didn't just look cool, but they played an integral role in such a way that you couldn't help but get emotional about them. In the last one, the mecha was almost entirely superfluous. Like a bit of trimming. The real genius of it lies in its anti-hero protagonist and twisty plot. As a mecha, I think Code Geass took things that much-needed extra step further.

Cetonis: That is a good choice, but it will not be counted if you don't follow the rules. I don't want to have filter out series and movie titles (or partial titles) from various sentences and paragraphs. Everyone please please put your response(s) all by themselves as the top line of your reply and then skip two lines and say whatever you would like. |
