I was wondering if anyone could tell me if these Digimon box sets are the real deal. There are a lot of reviews on Amazon.com for these products saying that they are bootlegs, could that just be the seller/sellers on Amazon.com selling bootlegs or would it be safe to assume that all of these Digimon box sets are bootlegs no matter where you buy them from. If anyone could answer this that would be great, as I would really like to buy them, but if they are bootlegs that would probably put me off.

Ummm I'm not sure if they are real or not but $140 for 2 seasons is kind of expensive. I'm sure there are places much cheaper than that. I've seen seasons of anime go for around 40-50 dollars before.

Thanks for the replies MrBlank and starlightknight. Do you know if there were any Digimon DVDs ever realesed that are legit, such as volumes? At the moment I would probably buy any Digimon season 1 DVDs as long as they are legit.

There are legit Digimon box sets for seasons 1-4. They are available here:
Digimon Season 1 They were released by Alliance Entertainment. The site also has season 1 of Samurai Pizza Cats. Note that if you purchase something off the site you will probably need to check your spam folder as the word junkie in Toon Junkie will likely put it there.

For more info, see the ANN thread regarding that set. The legit set is rather pricy, but its out there. To that site's credit, most of their other stuff looks legit, but it's hard to tell when about half of their stock doesn't even use stock images. Also, your sig is to big. EDIT: Sorry for the rant, but bootlegs piss me off, and I hate it when people don't check the legitimacy of stuff from smaller sites like that. Unless it's a big box chain (WalMart, B&N, etc) or a major anime dealer (RightStuf, AnimeCornerStore, etc), it's always best to do a little snooping. Last edited by Ascrod; 02-09-2012 at 03:56 PM. |

I should have mentioned before, these are region 1 dvds from Canada. I believe that Alliance Entertainment has distributing rights for Digimon in Canada. The quality of the box set is really high. It's not a crappy Chinese knock off with unreadable subtitles. To my knowledge this is a Canada exclusive legit region 1 dvd set. It is dub only but for something like this it would probably through up red flags if it wasn't.
