They held your computer hostage? Hah, that's not as bad as what Tiger Direct did with mine. I put a liquid cooling system into the last computer I built. The process of installing it includes taking apart the processor socket so the heatsink will fit on it properly. I misplaced a couple parts to it, so I couldn't remove the liquid system .
So I sent it into Tiger Direct so that they could find the parts, order them, and put it back together for me. It's one of those ugly jobs you don't want to do yourself as far as I'm concerned. So, they did, about two weeks later, I get my computer back. I plug it back into the surge protector, turn it on, and the damn computer nearly explodes. The power supply was fried along with a DVD-R drive. The damage could have been worse, but it's still so ridiculous. I'm never going there again. |

MY DNA IS MADE UP OF ANIME

Well Bestbuy does have some good deals. I found a new release boxset for about $24.97. I forgot the name of the anime but it was a good deal I couldn't pass it up.
side note: It was Noien, that was the show.

I don't think I'll be buying from Best Buy anytime soon, since their stock is always varied too. It's much more smart to buy online. Besides, that way I won't have to deal with customer service screwing me out of a price match.

Hum Best Buy has offered a mediocre service from my experience. They have a decent list of anime nowadays, and are fairly up to date with newer titles.
Too bad there aren't many retailers in my area where i can just drop by and browse their anime inventory which forces me to shop online most of the time. |

I go to Best Buy every Tuesday to see what comes out for new releases. While I do find most of their anime to be a little pricy I have found may good bargains and being a member of the reward zone program I end up turning in points towards lager box sets I couldn't get cheaper elsewhere. As far as thier computer repain. Twice I have used Geek Squad on 2 different PC's and twice they didn't do a thing to them. The first I ended up taking back after they had it for a month and didn't even crack open the case after I told them from the start what the problem was and the second time I brought my comp in after a friend working for Best Buy told me to give them another shot. Again I ended up picking it up 2 weeks later after telling them what the problem was and they didn't even turn the power on till the day before I took it back. Never again will I use Geek Squad!

Lucky you...
Our Best Buy doesn't get their shipments in until Wednesday, and then won't put it on the shelf until Friday. Half the time, I have to ask for something, because they don't get a title I want in for another month or two... Prices are decent though. But, I stopped going due to that and rewards zone wasn't working right. I got my first coupon for $5 after buying easily $800+ about 6 months after my last purchase. My cousin bought anime and $400 monitor and still hasn't gotten any. So, I'm sticking with buying online, plus it saves gas. |

Best Buy's selection of anime is fairly big, but they're not really up to date with more recent releases. They tend to stock the bigger titles or older boxsets more than anything else.
Plus their Reward Zone card stuff is annoying when trying to access it online. Apparently I'm not the only one with that problem as I know others who have tried logging into their account but were denied access. In my case apparently my phone number was incorrect, but I think I know my own number, considering it's under my name.

I have been buying the FMA boxsets from them recently but most of my anime is bought online or used dvd stores such as CDexchange,Gamestop etc I picked up the entire SamuraiX trust/betrayal boxset for $25 the other day
On the topic of geek squad-I have seen how they work-if you think your computer is infected with a virus the simply insert a yes/no questionare disc into your pc that runs various free PC antivirus/antispyware products on your PC and then charge you about $50-90 to clean it when you could have gone out and bought some antivirus and done the same thing yourself |
