Am I alone with this online store?

Has anyone else been taken by Discount Anime DVD? They are no longer on the web. Boy they got me for A LOT. 5 orders. They were great for 2 years but something has gone wrong. ANYONE ELSE ???

They are gone? Hurray!!! I'm glad they are gone. They sold thousands of illegal bootlegs. I would never spend money on that. One of the reasons I buy DVDs is to show my support.

Well, I supposed that means the other big bootleg sites days are numbered. I admit, I've bought a few bootlegs, but it is always worth it to pay the bit extra for the official DVD.

Actually, something has gone right. Both companies were finally outed for their practices. The plug has been pulled on many online vendors that sell unauthorized imports/bootlegs.

Contact your credit card company immediately and dispute those charges. Obviously the longer you wait, the more difficult it would be for your credit card company to reverse any type of charge. Sure you authorized those charges, but you obviously will not be receiving any products.

Bootleg/unauthorized import or not, you paid for it. You fulfilled your end of the bargain; Both vendors have not.

But remember, always support authentic products.



EDIT: Discount Anime is not entirely all bad. They actually sell both legitimate region 1 releases including "imports." Both sections are available and quite easy to navigate. But it is this mix of import and domestic products that may cause problems for the unknowing fan. From what I know, the plug was plugged because imports/bootlegs were offered on their site. An "all or none" effect.

If I had known that they sold bootleg I never would have bought from them. I only found out about it after it got taken offline.

i also ran afoul of a site selling bootlegs
i was lucky tho
i posted on here what i was getting and someone identified it as a bootleg and so i was able to cancel the order straight away before it was sent out
i dont agree with bootleg disc,s at all tho i do use p2p to get anime however if i like what i get i then try find and buy it

small town uk isnt exactly busting with anime shops infact the closest shop that i can buy anime over the counter is atleast 30 miles away and a good anime shop is 100 miles away

I usually only bought figures from them, but for those it was worth it. I miss them actually.
