Well, it sounds like it would be a fun thing to do but here's a catch. I live in Atlanta, GA. I literally live 3 blocks from House of Anime, a well known online anime store. Also, there are 4 other anime stores within 30 minutes drive for me. One was run by a husband and wife who just love anime so they opened a store. Sadly, it closed down recently due to lack of buying interest.
Best of luck to you if you really decide to do it. I prefer buying my anime online anymore. I'm just so tired of crowds at the stores. |

yeah it would be really nice to have a anime shop near where I live, it would be really cool.
Well I think you should make a "market research" or something like that. then you can see if it's beneficial for you to open one there, if you live in a little town then you should just forget about getting anymoney from that, well if you have made the "market research" and got an good count of ppl who will be there to buy anything. then maybe you can even get something from that. :D well this is my opinion, not really good one I think but this is how you need to do things. I have learned that business crap in school thats why I can say that :D Well good luck!

MY DNA IS MADE UP OF ANIME

From a business standpoint i don't think many of them are very successful, every card shop/comic book type store didn't last more than a year the interest just isn't there and it's probably even worse with Anime. (we have like a 80k pop)

Last town census was 60,000 total residence, half of this was in college students that have been here for more then two years (aka they are paying town taxes). The only real shop that would come close is the comic/magazine/board game store just a block away from the college, it's been there since I can remember but I've never bothered to check it out.
I would visit an anime store, but the chances of one opening here are almost next to nothing, especially when the students have free fiber or cable through the college. |
